Press Sample of Zoya Whispers Collection
Nick and I were super busy over the weekend and my blog has a whole new look! About once a week I glance through new themes that release and usually think “oh that’s cute” and move along, but on Saturday I saw this one and Nick knew he was doomed to rework my website after that. It isn’t 100% done, but the important stuff is up and we’re making little tweaks along the way. And of course while he was doing that, I was painting my nails and getting collections done! One of those collections happened to be the Zoya Whispers Collection!
If you’ve been around a bit with Zoya, then you know that after the Holidays they usually have a “transitional” collection to mellow us out before Spring shades roll in. Last year it was the Satin Naturel collection, and they released Naturel Deux and Naturel in years prior.
Generally I’m sort of.. meh about the transitional shades. Usually they are made up of mostly neutral beige or mauve shades and only 2 or so really get worn more after the initial review is done. When Zoya Whispers collection information went out, I was actually happy to see that the colors had a little more to them while still holding onto the neutralish transitional look. I hope that made sense?
Before we jump in.. one last thing. December 31st marked my 4 year blogiversary, and today marks 4 years of working with Zoya! They were the first brand that ever took a chance on me (and the blog was literally less than a week old) so they’ve pretty much been featured here since the beginning!
Ok let’s take a look at these transitional shades, shall we?
Zoya – Cala
Zoya Whispers Collection Cala Swatch
Cala is a soft warm toned nude shade. While I liked this shade in the bottle, it isn’t a good match for my skin tone and gave me a case of lobster hands. Application was nice, but I did need 3 thin coats for full coverage and a glossy top coat.
Zoya – April
Zoya Whispers Collection April Swatch
April is probably my favorite from the collection and actually looked really nice on my skin tone. April is a pale blush neutral creme. I needed 3 thin coats for this shade as well, but the outcome was well worth it for me.
Zoya – Eastyn
Zoya Whispers Collection Eastyn Swatch
Eastyn is an interesting shade that I really ended up loving. Eastyn is a medium grayed out lavender creme. A very nice take on a neutral that isn’t a super common way to do it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya – Misty
Zoya Whispers Collection Misty Swatch
Misty is an odd shade for me as well. This is a dusty taupe that has a touch of green in it. I’ll be 100% honest and let you know that I don’t know if I like this shade or not. It works for my skintone, and I don’t hate it.. but it’s kind of growing on me. In the bottle I kinda did the lip sneer thing (this is why I don’t do videos… my initial facial expressions would ruin it) but once I put it on, it looked a lot better than it did in the bottle.
Application wise – perfection. 2 coats and a glossy top coat.
Zoya – Ireland
Zoya Whispers Collection Ireland Swatch
Ireland is another shade I was iffy on, but I ended up really liking it. Ireland is a muted dusty spring green. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya – Lake
Zoya Whispers Collection Lake Swatch
Lake is another favorite from the Whispers collection. This is a dusty grey blue creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Whispers Collection Overview
So what did I think of this collection? Of all the transition collections released in the last 3-4 years, this is probably my favorite. Not all of the colors are wearable by me, but more than in previous transitional collections. Application wise – this collection was near perfect. April and Cala needed 3 thin coats, but the rest were 2 coats and had a great consistency. My top picks are April, Lake and Eastyn. Misty I am really on the fence about. I’m oddly drawn to it, but still not completely sold on it and I’m not sure why. It definitely looks better on me than in the bottle though. We’ll see if she makes me fall for her after a little time.
Preorders for the Zoya Whispers collection started on December 28th, 2015, but I honestly haven’t seen a release date posted and the collection isn’t up on the Zoya website yet for ordering. Once Zoya Whispers is released, or at least has a released date announced, I will update this post.

I think these are such lovely winter shades. April and Lake are my faves.
Yes! They are nice for Winter moving into Spring!
I love shades like this, especially this time of year when I’ve been binging on intense, deep colours and glitter. :D
Yes! Me too!
Happy Blog-iversary! This collection is gorgeous. I really love April, Lake and Eastyn
Thank you! And yes – your favorites are the same as mine!
Haha, when you mentioned the lip sneering I had a vision of you as the meme Side Eyeing Chloe! I have to admit that I was not too excited about this collection but I could see a few of them becoming stample shades for people.
hahaha I do it a lot unintentionally when I first look at polishes! It’s very quick and you have to be really watching to catch the left side of my lip sneer up, but it’s there.
I can’t wait to swatch these! Love the new blog look btw! I also just did mine over :)
Thank you! I saw yours as well and it looks great!
Aww, now I wish I ordered the collection w/that promo code!
I didn’t even see the promo code until today!
I didn’t even see the promo code until today!

Yes! It’s really pretty and nice for all occasions!
This feels very springlike to me. While I like the shades I don’t know if those are colors that I’d be comfortable wearing.
It’s a nice transitional set to go from Winter into Spring
I am kinda digging those ugly-pretty shades! And congrats on four years :)
Right? Sometimes they just work! And thank you!
These are such pretty, wearable shades. I especially love Eastlyn. Congratulations on the blogoversary!

I love the creaminess of this set!
oh zoya. I guess half a collection is good enough. I just cant get behind that pea green.
Your swatches are great! Mu faves are those 3 you mentioned. I like Misty as well and I am still thinking if I am going to order it once it is available in Canada. The other 3 for sure!
I always check your blog before buying any new collection polish. Thanks a lot for the beautiful pictures and for your reviews.
These are all such gorgeous shades!
Congratulations on your Blogganniversary! I like the new look too. These shades aren’t really colors I’d wear but Lake is super pretty. :)
April is perfection on you! I’m liking the new set up!
With the 4 free for the cost of $15 shipping going right now I was sure wanting to get Lake. I don’t really like the rest of them but Lake is really pretty. Bummer. I’m wondering why they are $10 since regular polishes are $9 while Mattes and Pixies are $10. These are not Matte or Pixie so I don’t understand the price increase…unless Zoya is increasing the price overall. I hope not….their prices are already high which is why I love the sales like the one going on now.
