Who’s ready to see what more Fall goodies? I have the Zoya Fall 2017 Sophisticates Collection here to show you!
For some reason I always feel like Fall and Winter collections are generally Zoya’s stronger collections. I do love their Spring and Summer, but Fall and Winter seem to have more of the oohhh ahhh type colors in them. For Fall 2017 there are a mix of lighter, more office friendly neutrals and then an assortment of deeper, vampy shades. For me, this 12 piece collection covers a lot of ground as far as the color selection.
Within these 12 shades we have some cremes, some metallics and some shimmery pearly shades to choose from.
Let’s jump on in.
Zoya Mckenna
Mckenna is a softer almond creme with a pearl finish. While I liked this color on me, the formula was a tad on the thick side and didn’t want to self level entirely. I do recommend thin coats to avoid the self leveling issue. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos
Zoya Beth
Beth is a medium greyed out lavender with strong rose gold shimmer. Zoya describes it as a metallic and I just simply didn’t agree with it. It doesn’t have the typical ‘metallic’ finish. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Joni
Joni is a gorgeous dusty warm plummy mauve creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Presley
Presley is actually one of my favorites from this set. It gives me total Fall vibes and I love this type of shade.
Presley is a smokey medium to lighter lavenderish mauve creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Hera
Hera is a dusty warm toned rose creme. When I was younger, my grandma used to wear a polish all the time that completely reminds me of this one, so it actually makes me smile. Her name was RoseMarie though, not Hera.
Since it brings back happy memories, this shade earned a top spot for me.
Bonus fact: My grandma was named RoseMarie, so when my sister was born she was named Jennifer Rose – and I got Lisa Marie. That was my mom’s way of naming us both after my grandmother. Unfortunately my grandma passed away 26 years ago (it was actually 26 years ago yesterday)
Zoya Padma
Padma is a richer dusty cool toned rose red creme. It isn’t a pure red and does have pink tints to it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Hadley
Hadley is a super deep, smokey midnight blue creme. This is incredibly dark and I kinda love it. I personally didn’t experience staining with this shade.
I used 2 coats and a top coat for these photos.
Zoya Yvonne
Yvonne is a rich, dusty brick red creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Mona
Mona is rich, dusty brownish red creme. I almost want to say “chocolate cherry” but not quite. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Elaine
Elaine is a rich, deep, cool toned brown creme. Almost a dark chocolate color. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Zoya Tabitha
Tabitha is a deep hunter green with a pearl finish. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I’m not a fan of green, but something about this one has me loving it. The pearl finish elevates it a bit to give it an interesting depth.
Zoya Gal
Gal is a sheer, dusty light olive green base packed with gold and copper metallic microflecks. This was the only shade I needed 3 coats on, but the 3 coats were worth it in my opinion.
Gal can also be used as a topper for other shades in the collection (or not in the collection!)
Zoya Fall 2017 Sophisticates Collection Overview
Application wise, the only shades I have anything to mention were Mckenna for being a little thick and didn’t self level easily and Gal for being on the sheerer side and the only shade in the collection that needed more than 2 coats. Otherwise, all of these shades applied nicely and had rich color and great opacity.
Overall, this is a nice Fall collection with a lot of nice color options (but where’s the purple Zoya?) and a nice range from neutral to vampy shades. There were a ton of “dusty” shades that really bring out the Fall feel for me personally.
My Top Picks: Presley, Hera, Tabitha, Mona, Hadley and Beth.
Price: $10.00 Each

I think I actually prefer fall colors for my nails and these are just too gorgeous! My favorite is they Zoya Gal!
I think Fall shades agree with me more too! Deep vampy shades especially!
OOh these shades are so pretty! I am so ready for Fall and I think I’ll be adding Hadley to my nails repertoire this season!
These colors are sooo fun! I LOVE the dusty rose color, the lavender, and brown… OMG!! I need them. And your nails are so well polished! Great pics
This collection is beautiful and it’s giving me major fall vibes.
Definitely fall which is a nail season I always love. Presley and Gal are my picks though there are others like Hadley and the green that are very striking.
I am totally in love with these, especially the shimmers and darker colors. My shipping notice from the pre-order came and I can’t wait to see these in person.
OMG Tabitha is gorgeous!!
I think this entire collection is smashing. I would love just about every shade. I’m a fan of reds and mauves and I love how they’ve done these. Also the deep green is fabulous.
Those are really pretty! I think Beth is my favorite!
These look gorgeous, I’m kinda glad they havent added another purple, we had Lois, Tina and Millie. I really want Mona as that was my grandma’s name :) fab swatches too :)
Zoya has the prettiest collections! And of course Beth is a stunner.
Gorgeous! I don’t buy much mainstream anymore, but OPI and Zoya always knock it out with fall! I love Mona, Yvonne, Beth and Joni.
Love these! Love the story about how you and your sister were named. I caught that you loved Hera so much you put it in the collage of twelve twice and left out Gal.
YES!!! These are so good! Gal gets me every time.
So many pinks! I agree though, it’s a very good overall colour palette for fall :)
