***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***
If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]
I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.
Tonight I have an assortment of newer Mentality Nail Polish shades to share with you. These aren’t as new as their neons or Crystalchromes, but still fairly new to the lineup.
There are 9 shades total to share with you, so we will just dive right in.
Taunt
Taunt is an muted pale orange holographic jellychrome with glass flecks that shift blue, violet, red, to orange. Because of the intense amount of glass flecks in the polish, the base was difficult to make out. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Shindig
Shindig is a aqua matte jellychrome with glass flecks that shifts red, orange, yellow, to yellow-green. I had a little trouble with application on this one and it was drying quicker than I could move. It is a matte finish so that tends to happen sometimes. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Nolle
Nolle is a blackened multichrome with glass flecks that shifts red-purple, red, orange, to yellow. I used 2 easy coats for these photos.
Incite
Incite is a pale purple holographic jellychrome with glass flecks that shift yellow, yellow-green, green, to blue. I used 2 easy coats for these photos.
Hoopla
Hoopla is actually one of my favorites from these 9. Hoopla is a red toned pink matte jellychrome with glass flecks that shifts blue-green, blue, violet, to red. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Foment
Foment is an aqua holographic jellychrome with glass flecks that shift red, orange, yellow, to yellow-green. This is another favorite from the 9! I used 2 coats for these photos.
Fête
Fête is a purple matte jellychrome with glass flecks that shifts yellow, yellow-green, green, to blue. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Bash
Bash is an orange matte jellychrome with glass flecks that shift blue, violet, red, to orange. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Agere
Agere is a blackened multichrome with glass flecks that shifts blue-green, blue, violet, to red. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Overview
I really love glass fleck shades, which all of these were, but I found with some of the matte shades I had to work really fast or I would experience dragging due to the polish drying too quick. While I usually have no issues with Mentality mattes, the matte plus glass fleck combo can be a bit tricky. I like all of the colors I was sent for this review, and as with a lot of Mentality shades, they are quite unique to my collection which is part of why I enjoy their polish so much. Aside from needing to work quickly with the mattes, I didn’t experience any other application issues with these shades.
Price: $8.25 – $8.50 each
