Hangin’ With My Peeps Sampler
Jen of Vapid Wax has worked her magic yet again for another sampler! Tonight we’re going to be taking a look at the Vapid Wax Hangin’ With My Peeps Sampler!
The Vapid Wax Hangin’ With My Peeps Sampler is a 10 piece wax sampler bag with some incredibly delicious scents. You’ll be able to get your paws on them starting tomorrow at 1 PM EST.
Now, full disclosure – I haven’t had these long enough to do a thorough scent review. I’ve only actually had time to melt 2 of them – so most of this review is going to go over the official scent description and what I pick up on dry sniff. I will say which 2 I melted and give more info on those for both dry sniff and while melting.
I received these Saturday afternoon, and I was doing the big Polish Pickup post (which Jen has wax in there too – so don’t miss it) but I’ve also been working so I haven’t been home much to melt more than the 2. The amazing Kiz of One Hundred Brushes will also be posting a review – so she’ll be able to help out with a second set of nostrils on the scents as well.
All 10 sampler waxes are cute bunny heads. Some have glitter, one has hand painted detail – but they all smell deliciously sweet.

Vapid Wax | Sweet Heart Peep
Sweet Heart Peep- Tart yet sweet treats blended with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
This smells exactly like you would think a sweet tart cupcake would smell while baking. It has a tart zing to it, but the marshmallow, butter creme and vanilla bean mellow the tartness out perfectly so it has a nice tart and sweet balance to it. When I sniff it, I instantly thought of sweet tarts dipped in butter creme frosting.
Vapid Wax | Wild Watermelon Peep
Wild Watermelon Peep- Juicy watermelon with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
Much like Sweet Heart Peep – this is the watermelon jolly rancher version. While I don’t personally like the taste of watermelon jolly ranchers (I know, my son says I’m crazy) I do like the scent to them. It’s not a fresh watermelon scent, it’s very much the candy watermelon scent to my nose. The sweetness is mellowed out by the marshmallow fluff, butter creme and vanilla bean.
Vapid Wax | Very Strawberry Peep
Very Strawberry Peep- Bright, juicy strawberries with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
Strawberry butter creme frosting All. The. Way. This is very sweet to my nose, but not candy sweet. Very much cupcake baked goods sweet, laced with sweet and slightly tart, juicy strawberries – slathered in frosting.
Vapid Wax | Cherry Crush Peep
Cherry Crush Peep- Lucious cherries with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
This was the first one I melted. The second I sniffed it – I knew it was going right into the warmer. Cherry Crush Peep is a strong sugared cherries scent with frosting. Think Cherry Slushy but instead of the lemon and lime scent mingled, it’s frosting. The cherry scent is the stronger one (the others are more balanced)
If you love Cherry Slushy from Vapid – you will also really love this one. I would honestly buy a whole sampler bag just to get my hands on another one of these. It’s that good.
Vapid Wax | Fruity Loops Peep
Fruity Loops Peep- Your favorite cereal mixed with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
This is the second one I melted, on Jacob’s request. He loves all things Froot Loops/Frooty Pebbles.
So for me, this one reminds me of a sweeter version of Pebbles Cake. It has that same fruity cereal vibe, but with more of a vanilla kick to it. Jacob was definitely not disappointed and our kitchen smelled like I was making a sweet cereal treat (we’ve made Fruity Pebbles treats before and this was very similar)
That’s the best way I can describe it. If you were to make Froot Loops treats (rice krispy treats but with Froot Loops or Fruity Pebbles instead of Rice Krispies)
Vapid Wax | For Peeps Cake!
For Peeps Cake!- Rich blueberries and creamy NY cheesecake mixed with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
For Peeps Cake isn’t as sweet as I anticipated, so it’s a nice little break from the sweetness of the rest of the group. It’s still sweet – just not as sweet.
I’m a huge cheesecake fan – and I sniffed this before reading the description and immediately knew it was blueberry cheesecake. It definitely has the mellower cheesecake scent, with a nice blueberry scent to it – not super sweet, and the tiniest tart like kick – and then mellowed even more with the marshmallow fluff and vanilla.
Vapid Wax | Peep! Peep!
Peep! Peep!- Sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
Peep! Peep! is basically the base line for all of the blends in this sampler – without any extra frills. It smells like vanilla butter creme frosting. Sweet and to the point.
Vapid Wax | Jelly Bean Peep
Jelly Bean Peep- Signature, sweet wild cherry blended with spiced fruit with strawberry and peach to balance alongside cinnamon and spices blended with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
Easily the prettiest Peep in the pack. Jelly Bean Peep smells like a frosted fruit cake to me. I can smell a hint of cherry and the cinnamon and spices along with the butter creme and vanilla. I’m guessing the strawberry and peach scents come out to play more while melting. But on dry sniff – it honestly reminds me of a fruit cake slathered in butter creme frosting.
Vapid Wax | Toffee Peep
Toffee Peep- Sticky Vermont maple syrup, butter, creamy vanilla and toffee blended with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
I love me some toffee and this is making me crave some… and I haven’t even melted it yet. This one is Nick’s favorite on dry sniff. It’s sweet, but more syrupy sweet than candy sweet. Definitely has the maple syrup vibes… if you poured it over a cupcake.
Vapid Wax | Cotton Candy Peep
Cotton Candy Peep- Rich, creamy frosting filled with sugary sweet cotton candy, sugar crystals and vanilla blended with sweet marshmallow fluff, butter crème and vanilla bean topped with sugar!
Truth be told – I expected this to smell a lot sweeter than it is… but I kind of like that it’s not. I definitely get more of the creamy frosting and vanilla scent more so than the cotton candy scent. I can get a slight cotton candy scent from it – but when you inhale – you’re hit with vanilla frosting – then after you stop inhaling, the cotton candy scent lingers a bit.
Most likely I’ll be melting this one next to see if the cotton candy scent is stronger on melt – but because the description is basically frosting on frosting… I think the cotton candy is supposed to kind of take a backseat and help enhance it without overtaking it.
Vapid Wax | Hangin’ With My Peeps Sampler
Definitely a wonderful sampler – especially if you LOVE sweet.
As I mentioned, I haven’t had a chance to melt them all just yet – so I can’t give a total review on that, but on dry sniff – these are all going to be a hit in my house.
On dry sniff, I absolutely LOVED Cherry Crush Peep (it didn’t disappoint while melting either), For Peeps Cake! and Toffee Peep.
