It’s finally here! Vapibirthday 2018! Vapid Lacquer has been in business for 6 years now, and it’s time to celebrate. I have the Vapid Lacquer Star Showers Collection for Vapibirthday to share today!

 

This year’s Vapibirthday has 9 new polishes coming out! There are 5 magical magnetics as well as flake toppers. I get that not everyone is into magnetics, so I will be showing each magnetic with and without the magnetic effect.

I’ve got some bug so I’m not feeling great right now. Focus is all over the place, so I’ll type these up and then I’ll have to reread and make sure I didn’t skip anything, so sorry in advance.

I was asked before how I do my magnetic effect. I like the lines, but sometimes I like it a little different, so I took a photo. I use the corner of my Vapid magnet. The photo isn’t the best quality, but it does show how I get a wavy line.

Meow Meow Space Tiger

Meow Meow Space Tiger is an ultrachrome chameleon multichrome base that shifts burgundy to bronze to gold with a touch of scattered holographic. The magnetic particles pull out pink to magenta to gold multichrome effects. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Interplanetary Shockwave

Interplanetary Shockwave is a surprise shade. Without the use of the magnet it’s a warm chocolate brown with a scattered holo sprinkled in, as well as little blue and magenta sparks. The magnet shifts the entire polish in an incredible way. Suddenly the base takes on a deep navy blue to purple shifting base with a strong copper to orange to gold magnetic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Moon Tango

Moon Tango is a deep cool toned purple ultrachrome chameleon base that shifts to navy blue, purple, magenta and golden green with a light scattered holographic. When you use the magnet it pulls out an incredible blue to teal to fuchsia effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Swing By Jupiter

Swing By Jupiter is a rich royal purple ultrachrome chameleon multichrome base that shifts from royal purple to magenta to gold, with a light scattered holographic. When you apply the magnet it pulls out a pink to copper magnetic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Mars At Opposition

I saved my favorite magnetic for last! Mars At Opposition is a mid chocolate brown with a forest green shift and light scattered holographic. When you use the magnet, it pulls out a bronze to copper to rose gold magnetic effect which the base goes to a forest green to blue to violet multichrome. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Centaurids

Centaurids is a stunning iridescent like flake topper that shift blue to purple to magenta to teal to green. There’s also a light scattered holographic. I used 2 coats of Centaurids of Vapid Lacquer Pessimist.

Draconids

Draconids is the next flake topper and the flakes shift from royal blue to aqua to green to violet and has a light scattered holographic effect. I used 2 coats over Vapid Lacquer Pessimist.

Lyrids

Lyrids is the next flake topper and shows a deep purple to royal blue to aqua shift and scattered holographic. I used 2 coats over Vapid Lacquer Pessimist.

Perseids

Perseids is the final flake topper! This one has smaller flakes that are more densely packed than the previous 3. This one has flakes that shift from bronze to copper to red to magenta to orange to pink and some flashes of deep blue. There is also a light scattered holographic. I used 2 coats over Vapid Lacquer Pessimist.

There you have it! The full Vapid Lacquer Star Showers Collection for Vapibirthday. There’s lot of shiftiness in this 9 piece set and everything applied beautifully. For those curious, Vapid Lacquer WILL be restocking Pessimist (the black creme base used for the flake toppers) so if you are in need of a good 1 coater black creme, I suggest you grab it.
