It’s going to be a busy day today and I’m kicking off the weekend with the longest of the posts I have scheduled. This is the Vapid Lacquer September/Early October 2017 Release!

For the Vapid Lacquer September/Early October 2017 Release we will see 4 Halloween favorites make a comeback in September (which excites me because I wasn’t quick enough to snag them initially) plus 3 all new shades coming early October that I’m positive will get snapped up with a quickness.

The shades coming back are all recreated from the 2016 formulas, so they should be the same. I don’t have last years to compare to, but glancing at other swatch photos – they look the same. Those shades are: Apparition, Witching Hour, Vampires Don’t Sparkle and Purple Poison. The newcomers to the lineup are Leviathan, Mephistopheles and Rite of Exorcism.

Let’s jump in. The release date is still TBA, but the 4 returning shades will release in September and the 3 new shades will be early October, so keep an eye out on the Vapicorns Facebook Group for further announcements.

Let’s go over the returning colors first, then look at the 3 new shades.

Apparition

Apparition is a light grey crelly base with three different types of holographic glitters as well as a subtle shifting shimmer. I see hints of the pink shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Witching Hour

Witching Hour is a black crelly like base with cool toned purple and fuchsia pink shimmer packed into it that gives it an incredible purple sheen.  It has a special glow to it, while still maintaining a deep vampy look. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Vampires Don’t Sparkle

Vampires Don’t Sparkle is a deep reddish maroon with vampy red shimmer packed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Purple Poison

Purple Poison is a stunning cool toned violet base with intense violet pinkish shimmer that gives it a gorgeous glow, as well as a scattered holographic effect. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Now moving onto the 3 new shades, these are themed after demons, monsters and exorcism. This is the launch of all 3 new shades and they might be restocked at a later date as well, but nothing is set in stone at this point as far as a date goes.

Leviathan

Leviathan is my number one pick of all the September releases. For me personally – if you can only grab ONE shade – this one should be it.

Leviathan is a deep, murky, slightly green tinged blue jelly base with shimmer flecks that shift from magenta to purple to green to gold and holographic sparkle throughout. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. I could have done 2 coats, but I wanted more depth with the shimmers.

I took a LOT of photos of this one, and I don’t think I even scratched the surface on how amazing this shade is.

Mephistopheles

 

Mephistopheles (which I can’t pronounce BTW.. Delanie tried to help and it’s just not happening) is a deep grey linear holographic with a golden sheen and hints of itty bitty iridescent color shifting flecks. You can see some of the flecks in my macro shots – but they are a little difficult to spot. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Rite Of Exorcism

 

Rite Of Exorcism is my #2 pick of the group. This is a gorgeous purple jelly base with a scattered holo effect, iridescent color shifting flakes that shift from green to blue to aqua and some gold, as well as iridescent microglitters. I used 3 thin caots and a glossy top coat for these photos. Because of the flake size, you might need to double up on top coat for a completely smooth finish.

One thing I want to note, when I was using this polish, I did notice a slightly different scent. It wasn’t horrible and was on the lighter side. Once my nails dried though, the scent was gone.  It was almost like a light sulfur type scent? It could be my nose messing with me, or my 11 year old walking by and leaving me a present – but I thought I would mention it.

Vapid Lacquer September 2017 Release Overview

There you have it! All of the Vapid Lacquer September/Early October 2017 Release shades. I had no application issues with any of the shades, and the only thing I felt needed mentioning was a slightly different scent with Rite Of Exorcism that I noticed. Otherwise everything was perfect and Halloween ready!

I think I was really excited to see so much purple.  I missed out on the 4 rereleases previously because I simply wasn’t quick enough, so I am happy to have them now.

With this release we also be seeing wax melts and bath and body goodies in new and Fall themed scents as well. Sugar Scrubs, body creams and body mists will also be restocked. I do not have a list of what scents there will be, but it will be in the group info coming up.
