Happy Thursday! The weather here has been iffy for the past week. Some power outages, a little flooding in the basement (luckily in the half that’s not our office/bedroom area) and getting ready to go to Nashville! Tonight we’re going to take a look at the Vapid Lacquer Road Trip Collection, which is also to celebrate Vapibirthday Month!

Earlier this year the Vapid Lacquer owner and her family (the pups too) went on a road trip and visited places like Marfa, Tucson, Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon… just to name a few places. This trip is ultimately what inspired this collection.

These are set to release July 31st and most years are full of circus themed scents – this year Krys went a different route. Get it? Route?

Anyways.

Let’s take a look…

Vapid Lacquer | Sedona Star Gazing (Magnetic)

Sedona Star Gazing is inspired by Sedona, AZ and the Grand Canyon. This is a deep, blackened blue jelly base loaded with ultra chrome flakes that shift blue to magenta to gold, scattered holo, and red to orange to gold ultra chrome magnetic pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I magnetized the middle and ring nails and left index and pinky alone. The magnetic effect is on the subtle side, but still visible.

Vapid Lacquer | Cactus In Tuscon

Cactus in Tuscon is a soft, cactus green crelly base with red to orange to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Tuscon, AZ. I know you figured that out, but i felt weird leaving inspiration blank.

Vapid Lacquer | Big Sky Blues

Big Sky Blues a medium almost cornflower tinged blue crelly base with violet and blue-green shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by the big blue skies of West Texas and Arizona.

Vapid Lacquer | Cadillac Ranch

Cadillac Ranch is the star of the show for me. Plus it’s got an interesting twist.

Cadillac Ranch is inspired by Cadillac Ranch. It’s a glitter dump. Cadillac Ranch (the location) is a road side art installation with spray painted Caddys and it’s always changing. Just like the road side art show – with each release, this glitter bomb will change too with a new additions to the glitter assortment. The color scheme should mainly stay intact – but the assortment will change a bit.

This is a mess of square, dot, and hex glitters ranging from micro to medium sizes in matte, metallic, pearl, and holo. They also range from just about every color of the rainbow as well as black and white. There’s also some holo moons in there!

All photos show 3 coats brushed on and then a glitter smoothing topper Krys had me try out, and a thin coat of top coat.

At the bottom I show this polish in 1, 2 and 3 coats.

Vapid Lacquer | Road Trip Collection

When I started blogging nearly 10 years ago – almost all releases were glitter bombs or glitter crellies, and it’s been awhile since we had a good old fashioned glitter bomb on a regular basis. We don’t see them enough – and I know some despise glitter… I still love it. I do also appreciate that Vapid kind of balanced it with 2 simple, but eye catching shimmers as well – and the magnetic.
