Press Sample of the Vapid Lacquer
May 2021 Release

I know I showed a bit of a sneak peek in the Vapid Lacquer Fan Group… but now I have all 4 polishes to share! We’ll be looking at the Vapid Lacquer May 2021 release tonight!

Okay so two of these shades are familiar, while 2 are brand new. This collage also had me thinking “One of these things is not like the other..” Anyone else? Just me? Okay then.

For this release, Krys has found similar pigment again to recreate Grape Stomp and Whatz Her Face. She tried to get them as close as she could. There will be other oldie holos coming back – but I think these are the only two that needed new, similar pigments for.

These all release this coming Sunday, May 30th at 2pm CST. Let’s jump on in. Once again – I am doing this without info, so I’m winging it. These descriptions are mine from what I see with my own eyeballs.

Vapid Lacquer | BioHazard

We’ll start this with the odd man out. BioHazard is a medium chartreuse jelly base with red to gold to green shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is a sheerer jelly. If you have a strong VNL, it will probably show through. I would recommend using a VNL Blur like base coat if you have a really prominent VNL. This polish does greatly depend on the reflect of the shimmer to create the illusion of opacity.

Vapid Lacquer | Radioactive

Radioactive is a blurple jelly base packed with violet to pink to gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Vapid Lacquer | Grape Stomp

Grape Stomp is a deep, cool toned grapey purple linear holographic with a strong blue flame. This is a bit more pigmented than the original. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This was almost a 1 coater.

Side note: This does stain. Krys’ notes says its more prone to staining acrylic/gels (my nails are currently gels and they did stain) but still has a small chance of staining natural nails too.

And the question I know some of you are thinking… does it morph colors/finish with top coat? A little bit. Not like before. It seemed to turn a touch bluer, but it didn’t morph (for me) into a completely different looking polish. I did not use a water based top coat for these photos. This is the polish with standard QDTC

Vapid Lacquer | Whatz Her Face

Whatz Her Face is a berry toned violet linear holographic with a stunning blue flame. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This version of Whatz Her Face is actually the closest to the OG shade as she has gotten. There was a second remix, and this is actually a closer recreation than the second was.

Vapid Lacquer | May 2021 Release

There we go – a small but sweet release. There will be other older holos coming on the 30th as well, but since these are redone, she wanted them reviewed. Only 2 brand new shades coming.

Krys is on vacation right now, so this will be a smaller release. While she tried to make a decent amount of stock – there is a chance of things maybe selling out. Again though – she thinks she made enough to last a bit. There will be a small amount of duos for the 2 new shades (Biohazard and Radioactive) that you can buy as a set.
