Happy MONDAY! The weekend went by entirely too fast, but I got a lot done… so when the Vapid Lacquer Heat Wave Collection hit my mailbox – I was able to swatch it right after I completed my current Polish Pickup swatches (which Vapid Lacquer will have a sugar scrub in – so keep an eye out for that!)
I got this and swatched it quicker than Krys was expecting – so I don’t have “official” info yet. All descriptions are 100% mine and what I observed without any prompting from the maker. Usually I have descriptions that I can agree with or tweak to what I feel it is but we’re flying solo on this one.
This 5 piece collection is coming May 28th and one of these colors I requested so I’m a little too excited about that cause she nailed it.

Vapid Lacquer | Fireflies
Fireflies is an orchid pink jelly base with pink to gold shifting aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
On first coat this appears really sheer, but the opacity builds up easily due to the shimmer content. If you have a strong VNL though, you may need a blurring base coat or thicker coats to cover it.
Vapid Lacquer | Far Out (Reflective Glitter)
Far Out is a medium bright pink loaded with blue to pink shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters scattered in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a brighter pink base, but the shimmer seems to tone it down and almost lightly “mutes” it. A very fun summery shade.
The reflective glitters add a very mild texture, but I was able to smooth it in 1 thick coat of top coat.
Vapid Lacquer | F%ck It’s Hot (Reflective Glitter)
With last month’s release of Wendigo and Medusa (which you can still grab) I made the suggestion to Krys for a kinda vampy, kinda fiery red version – and she delivered.
F%ck It’s Hot is a deep raspberry red jelly base loaded with pink to red to gold gold shifting flakes and silver reflective glitters. I used 2 coats, a coat of Smooth AF! glitter smoother and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Due to the flake content, this will dry down with texture so I do recommend 2 coats of top coat or glitter smoother and top coat as I did.
Vapid Lacquer | Heat Wave
Heat Wave is a hot multichrome that goes from red to copper to orange to gold. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer | Summer Moon
Summer Moon is a grape purple to burgundy to rose gold to green shifting multichrome. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I do love that red Krys made for me… but this is my fav of this release. It’s super shifty and I’m a sucker for multichromes.

There we have it – the Vapid Lacquer Heat Wave Collection! Aside from the names, visually this looks like a February release. I would like to see an arrangement like this for other color families… like green, blue… orange. That would be fun.
