Disclosure: Press Sample of Vapid Lacquer
Fall 2016 Collection
Ready for the first of many posts today? So much is releasing and I’m so excited for all the Fall pretties! First up today I have the Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection.
This is my first time reviewing for Vapid Lacquer, and I have to say I was dancing around a bit when the maker reached out to me. I had heard of the brand but hadn’t tried it until about a month ago. I was able to try her polish in the September The Holo Hookup Box and really loved the formula, so I bought 2 more polishes to try from the Vapid shop and some nail sauce. Then I bought 4 more polishes (and am currently in a trade to acquire Ride or Die) and have been happy with my purchases.
Let’s jump into this collection. This weekend is a big release day for Vapid Lacquer, they have this 7 piece Fall 2016 Collection releasing as well as a Halloween Box Collab with The Holo Pineapple and they are releasing the Halloween 2014 Favorites.
Let’s take a look
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Weaponized Guilt
Weaponzied Guilt is a black creme base packed with bronze shimmer. It has a slight olive cast to it in some lighting. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for thee photos.
Because of the shimmer, minor brush strokes are visible.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Spider And The Fly
Spider And The Fly is a deep green linear holographic with added gold shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Psilocybin
Won’t even lie, I checked the spelling on this one like 20 times when doing the photos.
Psilocybin is a slightly dusty, rich chocolate brown with a loose scattered holographic effect and purple microflecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Moon Moth
Moon Moth is a slightly dusty sage green creme with coppery pink shimmer. The shimmer on the nail was hard to capture in photos, but it is much more obvious in person. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Fire Starter
When I first saw the name of this, I immediately thought of the movie Firestarter with Drew Barrymore… anyone remember that one?
Anyways, Fire Starter is a deep, sultry red with golden shimmer that makes this polish glow. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Because of the shimmer, you can see some brush strokes.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Distressed
Distressed is my top pick from the collection. This is a dusty denim blue with silver holographic micro flakes and copper shimmer. My photos made the blue appear a little brighter than it truly is. Its a bit darker in person. The closeup shots are more color accurate than the full shots.
I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection – Ablaze
The final shade in the collection is Ablaze! This is a vibrant orange scattered holographic with red and orange microglitters throughout. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection Overview
The Vapid Lacquer Fall 2016 Collection is a great mix of color and finishes perfect for the season. I had no application issues with any of these shades and the colors are very rich and most were completely opaque in just 2 coats.
