August 2019 Release

This was a day that I sort of hoped wouldn’t come. My final Vapid Lacquer new release post. The admin and mod team were obviously told that Vapid was closing before the announcement was made public, and this whole time I was hoping something would change. But here we are. Tonight I’ll be sharing the Vapid Lacquer August 2019 Release.

Back in August of 2016 I got to try my first Vapid in the September 2016 Holo Hookup Box. Dali’s Elephants was my gateway Vapid. I had heard of the brand, but didn’t know restocks and such, or I missed them once I joined the Vapicorns group. It’s literally been 3 years since I tried my first Vapid, almost to the day.

In September I was asked to review the Fall 2016 collection and was ecstatic. Honestly as a nail blogger, my desk often looks like a shop exploded on it and I can’t find a damn thing I need – but I still love what I do. I love blogging and swatching, and I still get excited when a new-to-me brand, or a brand I admire asks me to work with them. So I reviewed the Fall 2016 collection. This is my 37th dedicated Vapid Lacquer post since working with them as a blogger.

On August 1st of 2017, I joined the Vapid team as a mod. I had never been a mod for an indie group and was out of my element. I didn’t really know any of the others on the mod team – so it was different for me. I quickly became friends with my parrot – Delanie. The mod team was welcoming too, incredibly friendly and vibrant ladies. The day I became a mod was the same day Nicole and Kiz became mods as well, so we were newbies together. Jennifer, Delanie, Yvette, Michelle, Jessica and of course Krys were part of the team (there was another girl, but she wasn’t around long and for the life of me I cannot remember her name). A bit later Carol joined us… and enticed us with her incredible baking skills. Seriously check her out and order yourself some goodies.

Anyways, I joined a team and I felt like I was really part of it. In December of 2017 I became an admin for the group and it’s been an absolutely incredible experience. The restocks are crazy busy. Each mod and admin have their jobs to keep things moving and make sure all questions in the group are answered to give the best shopping experience we possibly can. Outside of restocks, we keep the group engaged with weekly happenings … and the customers and even spectators make the group what it is. A happy little piece of the indie world.

I still want to bottle up some of Nicole’s peppiness cause that girl is pure energy and excitement.

Now it’s August of 2019 and this adventure is coming to an end, but it’s one I will absolutely cherish for years to come. Thank you to Krys and Jenn for allowing me to be part of the team. Delanie for being my sidekick (shush, you love me) and all of the mods for everything you put into this group.

Well, now that I did a little trip down memory lane, it’s time to get on with the swatches.

For the Vapid Lacquer August 2019 Release we will see three shades that are familiar to us, but have been updated a bit and given a little more pizzazz.

Vapid Lacquer | Sorceress

Sorceress is a deep chocolate tinged burgundy scattered holographic with a fuchsia to red to gold shifting ultrachrome shift, ultrachrome flakes and added holo goodness. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. There is a very mild texture, but it should smooth out with 1 coat of top coat unless you use a thinner consistency top coat, then it might require 2 coats.

Vapid Lacquer | … This Way Comes

…This Way Comes is a deep, cool toned purple linear holographic with vibrant violet flecks and holographic flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Vapid Lacquer | Blue Moon

Blue Moon is a vibrant cobalt blue with sapphire shimmer, scattered holographic, holographic flakes and blue to gold micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Vapid Lacquer | August 2019 Release

All 3 shades are absolutely beautiful and applied perfectly. I never owned the originals, but I do have the original Spellcaster (I won it in an auction back in late 2016 I believe) and the updated version here definitely has more oomph.

These shades are limited, there is a set amount made. We will give more details on purchase particulars the week before release. These shades will release with our ‘Splurge’ that is coming on the 31st of August. This will be the last offering that is scheduled, this offering will include all overstock that is available in-house.
