Holiday 2019 Collection
Well, we survived Black Friday. Not sure bank accounts survived, but I held strong and made 2 purchases – both for blog stuff. Nothing all that “fun” but the big money dump was to Replica Surfaces where I buy my backdrops, but they were having a 25% off (their backdrops are $77-$79 each.. so 25% off is a decent little chunk) but otherwise I did okay.
Tonight we’re going to take a look at the Tonic Nail Polish Holiday 2019 Collection!
Only 5 of the above shades are for the Holiday 2019 Collection, the bottom 2 are previous Polish Palette shades that are now available for individual purchase.
I received these a week ago, and had to try to not play with them until I was finished with my Black Friday posts and December’s Polish Pickup, which was hard. I had the bottles sitting here taunting me the whole time.
These release on Sunday – so let’s jump in and take a look!
Tonic Nail Polish | Hard As Nails
Hard As Nails is a clear base with densely packed chrome silver flecks. I only needed 2 coats for full coverage and a coat of top coat for a completely smooth finish. It’s incredibly lightly textured without top coat, so you shouldn’t need more than 1 coat for it to smooth over.
This does take a little bit of elbow grease to remove since they are tiny flecks.
Tonic Nail Polish | North Star
North Star is my top pick of this release. North Star is a semi sheer navy blue jelly base with pink to green shifting shimmer and indigo blue iridescent flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tonic Nail Polish | Charlie
Charlie is a burgundy linear holographic with red to purple multichrome shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tonic Nail Polish | Bringin’ On The Bling
Bringin’ On The Bling is a flakie bomb. This is a clear base with densely packed pink to gold to green multichrome flakes, silver flakes, pink iridescent flakes, and silver holographic microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Removal takes a bit of work because of all the flakes, and you may need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish – depending on how thick you apply.
Tonic Nail Polish | Oh Tannenbaum
Oh Tannenbaum is a teal to blue to purple multichrome (think Peacock Parade but a tad darker) with green to blue to purple to gold multichrome flakes, rainbow iridescent flakes and silver holographic microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy topcoat for these photos.

Break Of Day originally released in the February 2019 Polish Palette box.
Break Of Day is a stunning thermal that goes from deep grey when cold to pale blue when warm and has strong coppery shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tonic Nail Polish | Afterglow
Afterglow originally released in the February 2019 Polish Palette box.
Afterglow is a cool toned pink leaning lavender linear holographic with strong pink shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tonic Nail Polish | Holiday 2019 Collection
This is a smaller release than what we’ve seen lately from Tonic Nail Polish, and although it’s only 5 new Holiday shades – they all pack a punch. My favorites would be North Star, Charlie and Hard As Nails. Of the two rereleases from Polish Palette – Break of Day is a must have for me.
