February 2020 Release

Happy Sunday! I had planned on doing a couple posts today, but Nick was busy transferring the blog over to a shiny new server with even more room – and no posting while that’s going on. So I’ll have one post for you today – and that’s the Tonic Nail Polish February 2020 Release!

This release has 3 magnetics, 2 mattes and a whole lotta shimmer. In total there are 7 new shades releasing on February 9th. For 24 full hours, anything on the site now will overlap with this launch – so if you are eyeing anything, that 24 hour period will be the time to grab those and some new goodies coming.

Let’s jump right in, Nick has an early day tomorrow – so we’ll be heading off to bed shortly.

Tonic Nail Polish | My Magic Wine

My Magic Wine is a burgundy wine jelly base with orange to gold to emerald shifting shimmer, as well as iridescent micro flakes that flash blue, purple, pink and green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tonic Nail Polish | Juice Box Chaser

Juice Box Chaser is a bright, pink leaning purple creme base with a strong coral pink to peach to yellow to green shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

It’s a little less bright in person – but still incredibly vibrant.

Tonic Nail Polish | Sylveon (Matte)

Sylveon is a soft, almost smokey purple matte base with coral to peach to yellow to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and no top coat for these main photos. I did add top coat for the final 2 so you could get a glimpse of it glossy.

Tonic Nail Polish | Pure Imagination (Matte)

Pure Imagination is an orchid pink matte base with peach to yellow to green to aqua shifting shimmer, as well as iridescent flakes that flash the same colors as the shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and no top coat for the main photos, but added top coat for the final 2.

For me, this shade leaned more pink on the nail than it showed in the bottle. There was still a hint of purple, but it appeared brighter pink.

Tonic Nail Polish | Sing Your Life (Magnetic)

Sing Your Life is a metallic slate blue base with coral red to peach to green shimmer, as well as blue to purple to peach magnetic shimmer. The magnetic shimmer absolutely GLOWS. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tonic Nail Polish | Clap Your Hands (Magnetic)

Clap Your Hands is another magnetic – and this one is a metallic plum base with peach to gold to green to aqua to blue shifting shimmer, as well as fuchsia to purple to peach shifting magnetic shimmer. Again, the shimmer glows against the base color. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tonic Nail Polish | Koi Pond (Magnetic)

The final shade is also a magnetic. Koi Pond is a sheer teal to aqua to purple to orange to yellow shifting base with red to orange to yellow shifting multichrome flakes, with green to aqua to blue to purple to pink magnetic shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Even though there are flakes, unless you have a really thin top coat, you should still only need 1 coat of top coat for a smooth finish.

Tonic Nail Polish | February 2020 Release

This is a fantastic lineup of colors – and I was most amazed by My Magic Wine, Sing Your Life and Clap Your Hands. Juice Box Chaser is a top pick as well – but it didn’t quite make it into top 3.

I had no application issues at all – and these were lovely to work with.

As I mentioned, all current offerings in the shop will have a 24 hour overlap with this release, so you have the opportunity to pick up anything from both. It’s only a 24 hour window though, so make sure you don’t miss out.
