Tonight’s post is a special one! Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer will be holding her third annual Depression Awareness Fundraiser Benefit with proceeds going to I Need A Lighthouse, Inc. which is a Depression and Suicide Education Awareness Program. This year’s Fundraiser will be slightly different from last year. This year will not just be Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Limited Edition shades, but will also feature a ton of fabulous indie makers who have contributed beautiful polishes.
Want to know which makers? Alter Ego, Northern Star Polish, Monster Polish, Ever After, Superficially Colorful, Girly Bits, Paint Box Polish, The Polish Bar, Chaos & Crocodiles, Super Chic Lacquer, and Hypochondriac Polish are just a taste of the makers involved – but there will be many, many more. This even will be held on eBay (link will be at the bottom of this post) and several polishes will be done auction style, but there will also be Buy It Now options.
Featured Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers will include all of the Sirens from 2015 (including long sold out Sirens), all BEGLs from the Addicted to Holos Box (if you click the link it will take you to my photos of those shades), all BEGLs from the Destination Duos, Hypothermia, <3, 40/41, 5×5, Sordid End, as well as the Special Edition polish Siren’s Guiding Light, which is a greyed out silver ultra linear holo with 3 different sizes of holographic pigments, royal blue glass flecks, and blue shimmers. All auctions will start at $15 and go for 4 days. The Buy It Now Special Edition BEGL will cost $12.
Let’s take a look at the Special Edition Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer shade as well as 2 more polishes that will be available. One is from Cynthia at Alter Ego Nail Lacquer, and she is not only a fabulous maker, but an even more amazing individual who I got the pleasure of meeting at CPNA this year.
Special Edition Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Siren’s Guiding Light
Special Edition Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Siren’s Guiding Light is a greyed out silver ultra linear holo with 3 different sizes of holographic pigments, royal blue glass flecks, and blue shimmers. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Special Edition Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Prim and Proper Siren
Prim and Proper Siren is a beautiful lavender crelly with blue to green iridescent flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Alter Ego Hope Shimmers
Alter Ego Hope Shimmers is a beautiful dark green shimmer with a nicely scattered holographic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Along with Hope Shimmers, this shade will also come with a bottle of She Shines top coat from Alter Ego (and I used it for all photos shown in this post)
Here are the logistics:
The auction will be hosted on the Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer eBay Shop starting Saturday, October 31st, 2015, and will last for 4 days. 100% of all money made during this sale will go straight to I Need A Lighthouse, Inc. No money will come to BEGL, it will automatically be donated to the organization via eBay’s Giving Works platform. Shipping will start on November 7th, 2015. At the end of the auction, Julie of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer will announce the final amount raised. She will likely have a long post up on her blog about Depression and why she has chosen to support I Need A Lighthouse, Inc for the 3rd year in a row, but that will happen closer to the date of the event.

What a wonderful idea and a great cause that my family unfortunately has plenty of experience in
I love that Blue Eyed Girl cares this much to devote her polishes to this charity.
Great cause behind this collection!
That is one of the prettiest green polishes I have seen.
What gorgeous polishes, and such an important cause!
I love the first 2!! SO PRETTY!!
That silver is gorgeous… some silvers I have a problem with because they make my skin look dry – even if it’s not… this one would be a grreat color.
Such a great cause and gorgeous polishes.
So many pretties! Love it
Wow, these are gorgeous!
These polishes are so pretty, but aside from that how wonderful of these companies to shine a light and find support for such a growing and tragic problem in this country. Kudos to them <3
