It’s the 14th (for East Coast at least right now) so that means it’s time for another round of The Holo Hookup! The months are already whizzing by, so I can’t believe it’s that time again already.
Let’s get ready for The Holo Hookup February 2019, theme is Gothic Romance!
As always, I’ll do a quick rundown for those new to The Holo Hookup!
This is an all holographic box and each month it will have 3 constant indie makers in it – Glisten & Glow, DIFFERENT dimension and Cupcake Polish. The guest maker this month is Baroness X!
Each shade in the box has holographic elements of some sort in it. It may be scattered, linear, subtle or in your face, but an element of it is there. Some makers may incorporate other elements such as shimmer, glitter or flakes – but it will be in conjunction with holo.

Cupcake Polish | Lament
I have a LOT of Cupcake Polish shades, but this one made me swoon. I think it might actually pass Berry Good Looking now as my favorite Cupcake Polish.
Lament is a deep, cool toned purple linear holographic with a strong red to gold shifting aurora shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
For this stamping design I used Whats Up Nails plate B024 ‘Love Is Everywhere’
Different Dimension | Twisted Fantasy
Twisted Fantasy is a medium grey creme based linear holographic with micro color shifting violet to aqua flakes and aurora shimmers. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
For this stamping I used What’s Up Nails plate B006 A Lá Mode.
Glisten & Glow | Dark & Dangerous
Dark & Dangerous is a blackened purple linear holographic with platinum micro flakes mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
For this stamping design I used Whats Up Nails plate B024 ‘Love Is Everywhere’
Baroness X | Bloodletting
Bloodletting is a deep berry jelly based linear holographic with red metallic micro flakes. This shade has a stunning red flame to it. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you love deeper shades – this box is definitely for you. All 4 had a strong holographic effect as well. As I mention, Cupcake Polish Lament is quite possibly my new favorite Cupcake Polish (previously it was Berry Good Looking.)
All 4 applied really nicely. They weren’t too thick or too thin formulas and they were all 2 coaters, except Baroness X since it was a jelly base. However, it was a nice opacity for a jelly so you could probably do 2 normal to thicker coats instead of my 3 thin ones.
