Out Of This World
Happy Thursday! I’ve been trying to get my posts up all week but work was busy and I’m getting more training with face to face with patients – so when I got home I was wiped and actually took naps a couple days this week… and I rarely nap. So… a little last minute, but I have 3 polishes from The Charity Box for June 2021, and the theme is Out Of This World!
The Charity Box has been around for a bit, but I think it was a trio of polishes/items sold as a box to start and a portion of proceeds are donated to a different charity each month. Then it was expanded on, and now there will be 15-20 items involved each month and a theme, and of course… a charity! Unlike before though, this will be a la carte style instead of a box. You can pick and choose what you’d like to purchase.
This month’s Charity Box charity is The Pollination Project! $1 from every bottle/item sold will be donated to The Pollination Project. You can also donate an additional amount through a listing in the shop.
The theme for June is Out Of This World… so everything is inspired by space in some capacity. While some are more direct, others are a little outside the box.
Next month (I think) I should have several more to share. I was asked to be a regular swatcher/blogger for The Charity Box. As with all charity items, I will do monthly donations to whichever charities are for the month. This month I will make a private donation to The Pollination Project.

Anchor & Heart Lacquer | Space Pumpkin
Inspiration: Jack-O-Lantern Nebula
Description: Space Pumpkin is a medium, vibrant jade green crelly base with strong lime to gold to orange to pink shimmer flecks, as well as iridescent blue micro glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is crelly but leans a little more into jelly than creme. If you have a strong VNL it might show through a tiny bit so I do suggest a base color or to at least be aware of that.

Cuticula | Just A Phase
Inspiration: Phases of the Moon
Description: Just A Phase is a darkened cobalt blue jelly base with a mix of iridescent shifting flakes, as well as pink to green to gold shifting shimmer and scattered silver holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
While this is a jelly, it had great opacity in 3 thin coats.

DRK Nails | Glorious
Inspiration: A Breathtaking Sunset
Description: Glorious is a navy blue jelly base with scattered holo micro flecks, as well as red to copper to gold to green ultrachrome chameleon flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Again, if you have a strong VNL – it might show a tiny bit here since this is a medium opacity jelly based shade.

There we have it – 3 beautiful shades. I know that at first glance the DRK and Cuticula look fairly close, but they are actually pretty different in person. The shades of blue, the opacity, the types of flakes and color shifts – all different. Both shades are beautifully done though. If you can only get 1, I suggest you look at the flake shades and opacity and decide from there which better suits you.
