It’s almost time for another month of The Charity Box! I have 15 items in the August 2021 shop, and the theme is Folklore!

This month makers drew inspiration from Folklore. The charity for August 2021 is The Lupus Foundation of America. From their website:
Throughout our 40+ year history, the Lupus Foundation of America has made pioneering contributions toward ending the brutal impact of this misunderstood and unpredictable disease.

For the August shop, The Charity Box will donate $1 from every bottle/item sold to The Lupus Foundation of America, but there will also be a listing you can add to cart to make your own private donation if you wish to as well.

Let’s jump in and take a look! This month’s shop will run from August 12, 2021 at 12:00 noon central time through Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10pm central time.

1422 Designs | Mishe Mokwa (Mother Bear)

Mishe Mokwa is a dusty blue jelly base loaded with purple to pink to gold shifting shimmer, blue to green to purple iridescent flakes, blue fantasy flakes and gold holographic micro glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Atomic Polish | Frost

Frost is a green to blue to purple to teal shifting base with four different sizes of holographic micro flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fairy Dreams is a smokey deep grey base with intense pink to copper shimmer and a light sprinkling of holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Headless Horseman is a berry base with cherry red to orange magnetic pigment and scattered holographic. I found the magnetic effect to be on the more subtle side for this one, but it might have been that my magnet wasn’t strong enough. In person it was more noticeable but dispersed a bit. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Only the middle 2 fingers are magnetized for these photos.

Color Spectrum Polish | The Goat SuckA

The Goat SuckA is a sheer mauvey neutral jelly base loaded with purple holo glitter, copper shimmer and purple to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. If you have a strong VNL, it might show through after 3 coats.

Cardigan is a light, dusty sage like army green crelly base loaded with metallic bronze flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Esmaltes da Kelly | Boitatá (Magnetic)

Boitatá is a blue to purple to bronze multichrome magnetic with iridescent flakes, metallic flakes and aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I didn’t realize this was magnetic at first, so I am going to attempt to redo these photos this weekend.

Jen & Berries | She’s a Hot Ness

She’s a Hot Ness is a multichrome that shifts from a taupey bronze to emerald green to blue with silver holographic flecks mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Jewelry by RPF | Folklore Necklace

Folklore Necklace is a bright silver pinwheel shape and is about 1.5″ in diameter and comes on an 18″ silver stainless steel chain necklace with a lobster claw clasp. The cabochon is painted with Bee’s Knees Lacquer Sankta Alina which is a a matte cobalt blue polish with gold flakes.

Lady Necia is a medium blue jelly base packed with pink to gold to green shimmer and a bit of scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Luna Wax | Lucky Gnomes Wax Melt

Luna Wax brings us a cute wax melt with a gnome on it! This is scented with a mix of Lingonberry, red currants and golden amber. My nose picks up a warm, tart scent that I’m assuming is the red currants. It’s slightly berry but not quite. This is a nice scent to melt that’s a little different and not too sweet.

I Am The Horseless Headsman is a deep, blackened blue base with silver magnetic pigment and orange to green shifting crystal flakes, and a sprinkling of holo flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I only magnetized the middle 2 nails and left the outer 2 nails alone.
