Press Sample of the Stardust Collaboration
April 2020 | Sunsets and Sunrises
Happy Monday! I just had a 4 day weekend and it flew by way too fast. I did get a lot done though – played video games with Jacob (he’s teaching me Cuphead… which I suck at) and we worked on some of his school projects, plus I got a lot of swatching done for content to post this week. When I got into work this morning, it occurred to me that I hadn’t posted this piece though! The Stardust Collaboration April 2020 themed Sunsets and Sunrises.
I’ve actually had these photos done for a month or so, and just got the info for posting last Tuesday or Wednesday, and it totally slipped my mind! Today is the final day though – so it’s not too late to get yours!
The Stardust Collaboration is very new. This is the first release and basically .. Stardust will be a fun little set with shimmer and possibly multichromes. I only know a little about it, but Meagan of Ethereal did tell me that this would always be a fairly small collab with probably a max of 3 makers involved at a time.
Ethereal Lacquer & Kathleen & Co will be creating these together and the theme for the first collab is Sunsets and Sunrises! Let’s jump in and take a look.
Ethereal Lacquer | Sundrop
Sundrop is a deepened raspberry tinted base with lots of red, copper to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a sheerer polish that builds up nicely in 3 coats. While the base is sheerer, this shade receives more opacity by the shimmer coverage. You can use this over a nice raspberry creme though if you still have visible nail line showing.
Kathleen & Co | Sunset On Lake
Sunset on Lake is a periwinkle tinted base with strong color shifting shimmer that shifts orange to gold to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Again, sheerer base that relies on shimmer to give it a more opaque feel. The base is a touch bluer in person than my photos show.
You can use this over a nice softer blue or periwinkle creme if you would like more opacity.
Stardust Collaboration April 2020 | Sunsets and Sunrises
This is a really nice launch for Stardust and I’m excited to see what future collabs for the group bring. I’ve worked with both Ethereal Lacquer and Kathleen & Co many times – so it was fun to see them together in this.
I had no application issues with either polish, but as I said – both are on the sheerer side and depend on the shimmer to bump up opacity. They would look beautiful over a matching creme base if you would like more opacity though.
