Are you a candle lover like I am? If you are, this is definitely a post you want to check out!
I was recently given the opportunity to review a soy candle from The SOI Company, and I am impressed with the company as a whole to be quite honest. From the packaging right down to the candle itself… they did a wonderful job!
The candles themselves are in simple, sleek glass containers. There isn’t too much on the glass itself, other than the SOI emblem. The scent I received is Peppermint Kiss and it’s a very soothing, refreshing scent.
The candle is pretty typical to start. Trim the wick down a bit, light it and make sure its on a heat friendly surface and away from anything that can catch fire (and especially out of the way of children and animals).
SOI Candles are hand-poured using 100%, FDA approved, kosher soy oil and burn cleaner than paraffin-based candles. SOI candles will burn about 140 hours (approximately 40% longer than wax candles), are soot-free and do not emit any harmful toxins (such as Benzene) into your home. Unlike wax, soy oil burns at 106º into a reflective pool of soy that always remains warm to the touch.
Since SOI candles are created from natural soy, the melt pool can also be used as a skin moisturizer that can be massaged into dry or irritated areas. It can also be applied as a soothing remedy to sunburns, eczema, psoriasis, and poison oak.
Of course I tried it… and it wasn’t too bad on my hands! They didn’t give a super greasy moisturizer feel, but soaked in fairly quick and felt softer. Now, don’t get me wrong.. I liked it – but I’m not going to run to burn a candle every time I need moisturizer, but it is a neat addition to the candle experience.
Let’s discuss the packaging now!
The box itself had a more mature look to it and the pattern on the box was simple, but very nice and extremely sturdy.
On each box there is a foil sticker that tells you where it was packaged, who approved it, the net weight and the fragrance blend.
The sticker goes on to tell you the batch number and scent.
As I said earlier, I received my SOI Candle in Peppermint Kiss and it was quite nice. Peppermint Kiss is a mix of peppermint, spearmint and winter green, but it isn’t a powerful scent. It scented the area the candle was in lightly, so you could detect the fragrance, but it didn’t assault your nose when you walk in.
Price: Candles range from $7.50 – $30.00 (Candle shown retails for $27.00)

Have you ever tried out SOI Company? Are you a candle person like I am?
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

This sounds amazing. I do love a Peppermint Candle. I also heard that soy candles dont burn black smoke or something. Not sure.. But I think it is pretty cool you can use the product for dry areas on skin. Great post!
I love candles and use them all the time, I do prefer flame free ones because I have small kids.
I love soy candles
OOO I want this! I love candles!
I am a candle nut. I almost always have one burning in my home. They smell good and the soft light from a burning candle, even in the harsh light of day makes the room feel welcoming and cozy. It’s funny, my husband now likes candles as much as I do. He frequently buys candles and brings them home and fires them up. I have been a good influence on him! :D These Soi candles look and sound marvelous. I’m going to bookmark the site and so a little shopping. :D
I’m not a candle fan, but these sound interesting!
I love candles. They’re so soothing.
LOVE candles, so this is right up my alley!!
That’s really interesting you can use the melted wax as lotion! The scent sounds yummy! :)
That packaging is so pretty!
This sounds very nice! Thanks for the review
Oh, I love candles. These look great! I love to soak in a bubble bath with my Kindle, a drink and a candle!
How interesting that you can use the melt as a moisturizer! I love soy candles – they always seem to burn more evenly and burn the whole candle for me. I have a LOT of candles right now – I’m always buying them when I find them on clearance, and unfortunately, it’s too hot here to burn them for much of the year – so when it gets chilly, they’re on all the time!
For what you get candle wise those are darn good prices. Perfect Mother’s Day/hostess gift!
I have candles all over this house! I look forward to the seasonal fragrance transitions.
I love Candles… but don’t use them as much as I would like because of my asthma. I definitely want to try these though.
Sounds relaxing!
I burn candles at home every day, and this looks like a great one to try!
I am a candle nut- sometimes I use these type of candles as moisturizers for massages. Yeahhhh I went there! Would love to try one!

I need to get into candles. I like them, but I can’t bring myself to spending money on them.
