It’s time for the Shimmer Me Box October 2017 and this box has an incredible theme!
The constant makers in the Shimmer Me Box are Colors by Llarowe, Tux Polish and Native War Paints. Each month will have a guest maker, and the October 2017 guest maker is DIFFERENT dimension! Missi is pretty well known in these parts, so I don’t think an introduction is really needed. I do have a couple more posts for her releases coming up soon though!
The Shimmer Me Box October 2017 theme is Horror Movies! I’m actually a wimp and hide my eyes and plug my ears during horror movies BUT I have seen all the ones inspired by these polishes. My sister was a horror movie fanatic growing up, and she basically forced me to watch most of them. I have seen them so many times now that I know when to shut my eyes.

Colors by Llarowe Never Sleep Again
One, two, Freddy’s coming for you.
Three, four, Better lock your door
Five, six, grab a crucifix.
Seven, eight, Gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, Never sleep again….
Never Sleep Again is for Nightmare On Elm Street! This is a black crelly base packed with red shimmer and flakes. The flakes take on a slight bronze shift. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Native War Paints Friday The 13th
Native War Paints Friday The 13th is pretty self explanatory as to which movie it was inspired by. This is a deep cool toned purple creme base packed with blue to purple to red shifting shimmer flecks as well as red and gold microflecks mixed in. I used 2 coats coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tux Polish The Exorcist
Tux Polish The Exorcist is another self explanatory name! This one is a grayed out light green base with golden shimmer mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Different Dimension The Silence Of The Lambs
Different Dimension took on one of my top films, so I was happy to see this included! The Silence Of The Lambs is a monarch orange jelly base packed with gold shimmer. I used 3 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The orange is a bit bolder in my photos than in person, but it’s a very “in your face” shade!
Shimmer Me Box October 2017 Overview
Even if you are a wuss like me, you can still appreciate the polishes within this box! All 4 applied really well and there is a nice assortment of colors. From bright and bold to mellow and dusty. I like the movies selected for inspiration and that I actually know the movies themselves!
