The Shimmer Me Box for July 2017 launches tomorrow.. so I have another peek at what will be in the box to share now!
The constant makers in the Shimmer Me Box are Colors by Llarowe, Tux Polish and Native War Paints. Each month will have a guest maker, and the June 2017 guest maker is Jill of Glisten & Glow! You’ve seen a lot of Jill’s creations on my blog over the years (going back to her days of only doing bath and body products!) so it was nice to see her involved in another box.
The July Shimmer Me Box has the theme Heat Wave! So we’ll see a lot of warmer shades. The colors aren’t super spread out into a bunch of color families this time around. We have an orange, a peach, an orange-red and a pink.

Native War Paints It’s Getting Hot In Here is a red leaning orange with copper shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tux Polish – Take Me To The Water
Tux Polish Take Me TO The Water is a bright burnt orange with heavy blue and pink shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Colors By Llarowe – Some Like It Hot
Colors By Llarowe Some Like It Hot is a medium neon pink with strong blue shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. In person the blue shimmer stands out a bit more.
I can’t get enough of the hot pinks! Love.
Glisten & Glow – Life’s A Beach, When You’re A Peach
Glisten & Glow Life’s A Beach, When You’re A Peach is a bit more peachy in person. Peach shades are hard for my skin tone to pull off and they tend to pull more orangey on me. It’s not this orange in person, I promise.
Life’s A Beach, When You’re A Peach is a light peach linear holographic with pink to blue shifting shimmers and peach microflakes. It has a creme base, and I only needed 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The Shimmer Me Box July 2017 Overview
This was actually a difficult month for me. While I think all the colors are very well done and pretty – orange shades are incredibly difficult for me to wear without having “lobster fingers” so I usually don’t wear them. It’s completely a preference thing, but me personally? It’s not my cup of tea. I’d keep them for pedi colors though. The Colors by Llarowe shade is the only really wearable one for me since it’s pink instead of orange. I generally have the same issues with yellow shades too, unless they are super mellowed out and more cool toned.
That’s just me being honest. It still doesn’t take away from the fact that this box does have 4 gorgeous shades in it that totally fit the “Heat Wave” theme. The colors need to be “hot” and oranges are more appropriate.
