I have a really fun collection to share with you this morning! This one needed some good timing to complete, but I did it! Here is the Serum No 5 FW17 Collection!
So why did it need some good timing? Well because it’s a glow in the dark collection, but it also has 3 polishes that are thermals as well. So my body temp needed to cooperate AND it had to be at night to get the glow in the dark shots. Serum No 5 is still one of the best glow in the dark brands out there, and I’m so happy to see her still creating these collections.
Side note, because I don’t wear these polishes for swatching long enough to get the glow in the dark to “naturally charge” I use a small led flashlight before photos. While trying to “charge” the glow for photos Nick was yelling “I’MMA CHARGIN MY LASERS” and I had to do several takes of the photos because I was laughing too hard
These will be releasing at 12am PDT on Black Friday (November 24th)
Let’s get this going! We’ll start with the normal glow in the dark shades, then move onto the thermals that also glow in the dark.
Pink Lantern
Pink Lantern is coming back again! I first got my hands on it in the Fall/Winter 2014 collection, but it was a rerelease even then. I’m really not sure what year it debuted. Pink Lantern is a vibrant pink creme that is a borderline pastelish neon shade. It also has an incredibly bright orange glow. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Tangled Up In Blue
Tangled Up In Blue is a bright medium blue creme with turquoise shimmer mixed in and it glows a bright blue in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Hello Gourd-geous
Hello Gourd-geous is a slightly dusty pumpkin orange creme that glows green in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
And now onto the thermals that also glow in the dark!
Merlot, It’s Me
Merlot, It’s Me is a medium garnet red when cold and turns clearish beige when warm, with gold and burgundy shimmery flecks mixed in. It also glows bright violet pink in the dark. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Huffin For The Stuffin
Huffin For The Stuffin is a deep chocolate brown when cold and transitions to a light golden beige when warm and has a mix of gold holo scattered holo and copper shimmers mixed in. It also glows green in the dark. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
What A Re-Leaf
What A Re-Leaf is a deep olive greenish brown base when cold that transitions to a mustard beige when warm and has metallic flakes in shades of gold, copper and bronze, as well as gold and green shimmers mixed in. This one glows a bright bluish green in the dark.
Serum No 5 FW17 Collection Overview
This was a really fun collection to work on, both for the thermal aspects as well as the Glow In The Dark. For those not familiar with glow in the dark polishes, they do tend to have a slightly gritty feel to them, but top coat smooths it over easily. It’s most noticeable in the creme glow in the darks. For some that have never used them, they aren’t sure if it’s normal and I can assure you it is.
My Top Picks: Pink Lantern, Merlot It’s Me and Tangled Up In Blue
