Polish Pickup September 2023 | Haunted History
Disclosure: I am a paid employee for Polish Pickup. While this post is not sponsored, I do have a relationship with the hosting collaboration shop.
Happy Saturday… kinda early Sunday. I was hoping to have the final few items here to complete my video and post, but USPS is still holding them and I don’t know when they will arrive – so I needed to move forward as is. Right now – we’ll be looking at the items I was sent for Polish Pickup September 2023… Haunted History!
Right now I have 59 items, but I am still waiting on 3 more that I am aware of – and that’s By Dany Vianna, Indie by Patty Lopes and Penelope Luz. Once those arrive – I will have a grand total of 62 items for the month.
As usual – you can check out all current 59 items on my YouTube channel – I swatch each polish and sort of demo each product so you can see the consistency or how it’s used.
For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did Glisten & Glow Top Coat which is available in this month’s shop (sent as PR). For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Glisten & Glow top coat over it. For matte photos I used Anchor & Heart Lacquer Sea Glass (Gifted)
For my lighting set up I use artificial lighting due to my day job, my set up involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
For my nails – they are Apres Gel X nails throughout this post, and the style is Extra Short Stiletto.
Shop will open on September 1st at 11am Eastern.

UNICORN MAGIC SKINCARE | DELUXE COCONUT MILK HAND CREME

Coconut milk is also packed full of vitamins and antioxidants, especially vitamin C, which is known to brighten skin and increase elasticity. Along with quality skin loving oils and butters, this makes coconut milk the perfect option to include in a creamy coconut milk hand creme. This creme has a more fluid consistency than the Unicorn Magic Skincare Deluxe Triple Butter Hand Lotion, but is still rich, nourishing and moisturizing.
This month’s scent is History Goes Bump and it’s described as: fresh baked apple pie combined with creamy pumpkin and hints of nutmeg & ginger, sitting on base notes of maple sugar and vanilla frosting, yummy!
My nose picks up the mix of baked apples and pumpkin – but it’s an even mix, neither overpowers the other but they play well together, and then i get the nutmeg and vanilla mingling too. This is not a super sweet scent – but has the bakery yumminess and sweetness with the nutmeg spice.

NAIL ELIXIR BY VAPID | DEVIL IN A NIGHTCLUB (PAID PR)
Inspiration: Inspired by Another urban legend, this time from San Antonio, of the “Devil in a Nightclub”
Locals say that in 1975 on Halloween Night at the El Camaroncito nightclub, a devilishly handsome man that danced the night away, stole hearts and swept women off their feet… had a very strange secret. As he was dancing someone looked down and saw that his feet were actually the feet of a chicken! Screams erupted and it’s said that he was the Devil.
Description: Nail Elixir is basically a nail and cuticle oil. This Elixir is Vapid’s blend of oils that come together to create a truly one of a kind nail and cuticle oil. It has weight to the oil itself, it’s enough to truly hydrate the toughest of cuticles and driest of nails while still being able to soak effortlessly into the skin. Once absorbed it’s not greasy and can be rubbed all over the hand for moisture.
This oil contains tamanu oil, a viscus oil that has a light brown sugar scent, this does come through in the scent straight from the bottle. Once it dries down, you will only smell the fragrance left behind. Vapid’s elixir is also heavy in Jojoba oil allowing it to soak into the nail on a molecular level, as jojoba oil is able to easily penetrate the nail and provide and carry other nutrients with it.
Nail Elixir comes in a 1 fl oz squeeze bottle
This scent is a buttery vanilla and plum bourbon with caramel marshmallow fluff, grounded by woods and whispers of jasmine blossoms. This scent is full of such a devilish mix of scents, some say it smells a bit different with every sniff.
Every time I smell this oil, I get a different profile and it’s odd. It smells amazing – but I seem to get a mix of strawberry jam and sweet incense. I know The Polished Mage got more of a sweet earthy scent. It’s a complex mix and … I love how different it is.

Excellent work swatching these polishes as always <3. I definielly need the Polished for Days release
Interestingly, not too many are “screaming” out for me this month. However, I want lumen, pahlish, Vanessa molina and PFD. Of the bunch my must have would probably be PFD.
Alchemy and Dam on my wishlist. I was expected some neon green or yellow for Halloween theme but did not spot any.
I am so excited for the Dew Nailpolish AND glitter grabber
Bee’s Knees and Dam
My must have from this month is the PFD! I was planning to skip this month but that one drew me in
I think BKL is my top pick, but there are so many gorgeous tempting polishes this month!
This month is going to be so hard to choose! A couple I had moved off of my picks I’ll be adding back on after seeing these swatches
The Kathleen & Co is my #1, but KBShimmer is a close second.
As I expected, not too much drawing me in this month. But I am loving the Ethereal. For me, it’s a must-have! Vapid is also calling my name.
KBShimmer Take the Stairs reminds me of black opal, it looks so good.
This blog is awesome!! Can’t wait for September PPU!

I’m going to need a bigger polish budget this month! Top of my list are Lumen, Polished for Days, BKL and KBShimmer scrub
