Polish Pickup March 2025 | Under the Microscope

Disclosure: I am a paid employee for Polish Pickup. While this post is not sponsored, I do have a relationship with the hosting collaboration shop.

It’s that time again… and we’re looking at the Polish Pickup shop for March 2025 and the theme is Under the Microscope! This is also my birthday month… so I love when science themes win.

We will be looking at 58 items this month, but I think one more might be on the way? Not 100% sure but it’s possible.

To see all 58 items swatched and / or demonstrated – check out my YouTube link below!

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did Monarch Lacquer Hi-Def Shine Top coat (sent as PR and I’ve also purchased.. and that’s an affiliate link).  For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Monarch Lacquer top coat over it.

For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

And lastly – I do use artificial gel nails that I do myself at home. In this post (and video) I am using Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto, which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached.

Let’s jump on in and take a look.

The amount of glitters and shimmers in it gives the warm state a pale silver look and the cold state a silvery aqua. It’s also on the thick side due to all the goodness packed in, so you might need a bit of thinner if you prefer thinner consistencies.

Just apply the magnetic polish as a regular one and let it dry. Then apply a generous coat of this TC in one nail and use the magnet over it (repeat in the other nails). I painted 3 thin coats of the Penelope Luz Butterfly Wings as regular polish (no magnet used during the 3 thin coats) then I used this top coat, and after each nail I used a magnet (catseye on middle and ring, velvet on index and pinky). I got nice pull from it and it was a lot less work than usual.

KBShimmer | Blue Sage & Berry Hand & Body Scrub

Inspiration: If science itself had a scent, I imagine it would echo the traits of scientists and discoverers. The thirst for knowledge and the daring nature to experiment are represented by wild herb and fruit notes. The steadiness needed to work through a hypothesis is expressed by grounding earth scents. A hint of fresh air pays homage to the curiosity to explore the world around us. Yes, if science were a scent, I believe this one would be it.

KBShimmer | Fillin’ Groovy Ridge Filling Base Coat

Inspiration:

Description: First off… I know. I don’t have ridges – I have smooth af fake gel nails without a single ridge anywhere in sight.

Hear me out though.

I obviously don’t wear shades like this for a ridge reduced/free look – I wear it for a sheerish wash of color that I love as a base for stamping or for water slide decals. Or if I want to wear a palate cleanser polish – this is it. It also is a good base coat whether you have ridges or not.

If you have ridges and want a nice base or palate cleanser – here you go.

About the item though – Every polish wearer needs a good base coat. Fillin’ Groovy is a base coat that acts like double-sided sticky tape. It helps to create a long-lasting bond between the nail and polish while filling ridges for smooth application. It also helps prevent staining.

Unicorn Magic Skincare | Deluxe Coconut Milk Handcreme in Unscented

Inspiration:

Description: This is the first time this hand creme has been offered in PPU in unscented, since they are aware that many customers are fragrance sensitive and they wanted to bring it for more to try!

Coconut milk is also packed full of vitamins and antioxidants, especially vitamin C, which is known to brighten skin and increase elasticity. Along with quality skin loving oils and butters, this makes coconut milk the perfect option to include in a creamy coconut milk hand creme. This creme has a more fluid consistency than the Unicorn Magic Skincare Deluxe Triple Butter Hand Lotion, but is still rich, nourishing and moisturizing.

My partner doesn’t like scented stuff but always comes over to my desk to use lotions and such when he needs it – so he pretty much owns this one now and loves it. I will likely be grabbing a backup once the initial rush of orders goes through ( I want to make sure those who have been wanting to try this unscented have a chance first! )

Price: $9.75 | Cap: 200
