Happy Saturday! I actually had 90% of this post done and ready to go last Thursday, and was all set to post Friday… but then I got hit hard with the flu (I’m still recovering) and I slept for 24 hours straight almost… then didn’t leave my bed for a few days. On the bright side though – about 9 more items showed up in that time… and I’m still waiting on (i think) 2 more. So it’s now a week later than I intended, but I’m finally ready to share my post for the Polish Pickup June 2022 shop – and the theme is Fairs & Carnivals!
As of this moment – I have 69 items for the month to share. I know for sure Paradox Polish’s contribution should be here Tuesday… and I know there is someone else I’m waiting on, but it’s escaping me right this moment.
For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did use a combination of the top coats including Glisten & Glow and Vibrant Vinyls which was sent as PR this month, as well as Anchor & Heart Sea Glass and Night Owl Lacquer Gone Matte. I purchased the Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues and the top coats were sent as pr or as gifts.
I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I work during the day and weekend afternoons I’m with Nick and Jacob, so I do most swatching when the sun is setting or gone. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
For reflective polish photos – I only used my camera flash. It was taken in low light with a my camera (Nikon Coolpix L830)
For Glow In The Dark polishes I used this UV flashlight to “charge” my nails for photos (affiliate link)
Wish-listing opens tomorrow (Sunday… in case I post this after midnight) so let’s get this going.

Baroness X | Fairy Floss Solar Fluid Art Polish
Inspiration: Fairy Floss was inspired by blue and pink cotton candy at the fair.
Description: Fairy Floss is a solar fluid art polish that goes from a candy pink (indoors) and changes to a blurple shade in the sun (in UV light). It can be used in fluid art or it can be worn in 2 coats solo as a regular polish.
I used 2 coats on index and pinky and I did fluid art with Fairy Floss, Hit The Bottle Banksy (grey) and Fancy Gloss Got Milk? (white) for this look.
For the fluid art look, I did the following:
First I needed to make a decal. I recommend a silicone mat to do this, I personally use this one (affiliate link) but you can find them cheaper – I just like the size and having 4 to use.
The method that works best for me is to drop the polishes on top of each other a couple drips at a time (similar to water marbling without the water) and I do 3 drops of Fairy Floss and then 3 drops of each of the other polishes right on top of each other. I keep doing this until I have a nice blob of polishes in the center of the mat. Then I picked the mat up and just carefully moved it around to get the blob to warp and stretch and flatten out.
Once I saw the desired cells and spread of the polish, I set it aside for about 15 hours to dry (can take less, I just waited 15) and then I cut out the desired size, painted my nails with a sticky base and applied the cut out decals. Then I manipulated and sealed them in with a cotton swab dipped in polish remover. I used an orange stick to help cut off any extra I didn’t need.

Xpress Dry Spray by Baroness X | Xpress Dry Spray in Blackberry Lemonade
Inspiration: Inspired by fresh lemonade at the fair, with your choice of added flavors. Blackberry is one of the best combos with lemonade.
Description: Xpress Drying Spray scented in Blackberry Lemonade, fruity summer blackberries muddled in fresh lemonade with a touch of raspberry.
This product contains ingredients that bond with the solvents in nail polish to help them evaporate faster, namely disiloxane. This is the ingredient that evaporates and bonds with solvents the fastest of all the silicones in drying products. Drying products that do not contain this ingredient, won’t dry your nails nearly as quickly as Xpress Drying Spray. Baroness X also added camellia and jojoba oil to help hydrate skin and cuticles at the same time as drying.
Simply apply 1-2 drops over each nail to speed the outer layer for drying. Be sure to do this as the FINAL step – not between layers. Do this once the mani is done.

Hit the Bottle | Stick with Me + Pigment
Inspiration:
Description: “Stick with Me” is a sticky white stamping polish. Designed to stay tacky, allowing you to rub pigments into it and create beautiful effects. This kit comes with 0.5 gr of green candy aurora pigment which I’ve named “Endora”. Used with white sticky polish you will see tones of green and pink and when used over “Stuck on You” (our sticky black stamping polish) you will see emerald green to blue to purple.
To use this set you would paint your base color and then apply a matte top coat. Once done, use the sticky polish to stamp your selected design on. Wait 20-30 seconds, then gently apply pigment to stamping with applicator.
The pigment will not stick to the matte portion of nails which makes this a bit easier. Plus this way you can use the pigment without using the method that requires your stamper (which can make it permanently cloudy)
Once done, either use a water based top coat to protect the design, then the top coat of your choice. You can also skip the water based top coat and float your top coat of choice over.
For the stamping on this mani I used Beauty Big Bang plate XL-085

Unicorn Magic Skincare | Blue Raspberry Slushie Acetone Additive

The use of our acetone additive will help diminish the stripping of natural oils from your hands & nails, helping them look healthy and beautiful. Everyone is a little different when it comes to what their skin needs. I personally use half a bottle of Acetone Additive into my Zoya Remove + (which already has a built in additive) and that’s what i need. When using acetone additive, add 1/4 bottle (or even 1/5) and mix, test and add more as desired.

Description: Deluxe Cuticle Rescue is a thick and nourishing cuticle cream. It has the thickness of a balm, but a creamy lotion appearance and feel. This is perfect for a non greasy cuticle item, and a little goes a long way.
Lemon Cotton Candy is a delightful spun sugar with a hint of vanilla intertwined with freshly squeezed lemon, sweet with a twist of tartness.
The description is pretty spot on – this has the sweetness of cotton candy, the tart zing of lemon and the mellow vanilla tying the 2 together. It smells amazing.
Price: $6.50 | Cap: 200
Vapid Lacquer | Swing Fling Sugar Scrub
Inspiration: Inspired by those horrifying swing rides at carnivals
Description: A scrub for hand and body exfoliation, or you can use it to shave. Grab a bit from the jar, about a 1″ ball, scrub until the sugar dissolves, and then you have microfine bubbly shaving cream… and very smooth, primed skin.
This is a soap based scrub, meaning that it’s cleansing and doesn’t leave you oily. It may be a bit different than your typical scrub, it’s firm and almost moldable. Making it easy to handle, it’s not runny, and there is no oily residue in the tub or on you
Scent Notes: Candy apples swing with coconut, flying about with sweet pralines and pecans, while fluffy marshmallows dance in the clouds. Sweetly coming to the ground on a pillowy landing of creamy vanilla bean, with smooth tonka and musk.
This is slightly sweet, slightly salty, warm and inviting. It’s a very odd scent mixture that will immediately make you think of the fairgrounds.
Price: $9.00 | Cap: 150
Vibrant Vinyls | Rainbow Snow Cone Scented Double Bond Base Coat
Inspiration: Snocones!
Description: Double Bond is a ridge filling base coat and sticky base coat in 1. Best of both worlds. I also sometimes like wearing it alone cause it gives a healthy, sheer, milky look to the nails.
A rainbow swirl of fruity flavors poured over ice. Hawaiian Starfruit, Cool Green Melon, Apple, Pineapple and Orange. It smells just as amazing as it sounds!
This smells just like a Hawaiian snocone. It’s fruity, a little tart and delicious.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: None
Vibrant Vinyls | Rainbow Snow Cone Scented Fast & Hard QDTC
Inspiration: Snow Cones
Description: Fast & Hard is a super glossy quick dry top coat that can be applied over wet polish without issue. It also works over stamping, just make sure you float the top coat!
A rainbow swirl of fruity flavors poured over ice. Hawaiian Starfruit, Cool Green Melon, Apple, Pineapple and Orange. It smells just as amazing as it sounds!
This is a fruity and tart scent that is delicious!
For this mani I used the Hit The Bottle Street Art Neon Jelly Collection for the base and Beauty Big Bang XL-085 stamping plate.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: None
What Addiction | Sweet Masquerade
Inspiration: What Addiction has taken inspiration from an amazing art work named Carnival Candy
Description: Sweet Masquerade is a blackened purple jelly base with blurple shimmer, ultrachrome chameleon flakes, and a touch of holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $14.00 | Cap: 150
