Polish Pickup December 2024 | Maker’s Choice

I can’t believe it’s already the final Polish Pickup of 2024. I have been posting for every Polish Pickup shop since April of 2017, I have been doing their social media since April of 2018 and became an admin for their groups in September of 2018. In all that time, this month is the first time they needed to open a week early – which is primarily so the shippers can take the holidays off. So with that.. here are 53 of the Polish Pickup December 2024 offerings, and the theme is Maker’s Choice!

My post is up later than usual this month. I have a lot of Black Friday commitments, plus Thanksgiving (we’re hosting) and this is Nick’s holiday (he loves to cook) so there is a lot of prep involved… and cleaning cause his family is coming. So really sorry this is late – the video was up quicker this month. December is much more low-key so far, so that post should be up on time.
For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did Monarch Lacquer Hi-Def Shine Top coat (sent as PR and I’ve also purchased.. and that’s an affiliate link). For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Monarch Lacquer top coat over it.
For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
And lastly – I do use artificial gel nails that I do myself at home. In this post (and video) I am using Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto, which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached.

Alchemy Lacquers | Ephemera
Inspiration: A compliment to our December collection.
Description: Ephemera is a vivid violet crelly nail lacquer with green to turquoise to blue shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I love the look of this at 2 coats, but if you want a touch more opacity – definitely do 3 coats. 2 coats got me to about 80% opacity

Description: New Year, Same Sh*t is a deepened navy base with purple/blue shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Atomic Polish | Bioluminescent
Inspiration: Inspired by Bioluminescent ocean life such as the common Lantern fish!
Description: Bioluminescent is a tealish green based polish with pigment that gives it a blue shift, plus it is sprinkled with holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade has more of a green lean in person. It’s color accurate in my video, but in photos the green was washed out.

Acetone Antidote by Baroness X | Strawberry Snowdrop
Inspiration: Inspired by Winter Wonderland / Magical Aurora vibes from the north
Description: Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin! Simply shake up the vial and pour into your polish remover. I generally pour a 1/4 vial into a 10 oz pump bottle, but I recommend shaking it and pouring a little at a time in and adding more if you feel you need more.
Strawberry Snowdrop scent evokes the magic of a winter wonderland, blending the sweetness of strawberry ice, citron, and lemon peel with peppermint snow, delicate pink lavender, warm amber, sandalwood, and the soft embrace of fluffy musk.
This is an interesting scentIt smells like a mature strawberry forward perfume, so I get strawberry, sharp citrus and the musk.. and then i get a little kick of peppermint. I find peppermint to be lighter and almost like “was that peppermint?” cause it’s so light and brief when smelling.

Cuticle Oil by BCB Lacquers | Misty Mountains
Inspiration:
Description: This cuticle oil comes in a chubby cuticle oil pen that holds 6ml of oil and has a twist off cap and clicky end to distribute oil.
Misty Mountains Cuticle Oil has scent notes of: Fallen Leaves, Crisp Winter Air, Fir Needles, Winter Berries, Applewood and Cedar.
This is a definite woodsy scent and I get pine the most and it reminds me of a fresh Christmas tree lot. When you first walk in and Christmas tree scent just smacks you in the face.

the corners of the stars may poke out depending on placement. I brushed them on so .. where they landed I went with – but you can force placement to avoid it.

This does have brush strokes visible and I found the thicker the coats, the more obvious those brush strokes were.

Glisten & Glow | Top Coat

Description: Glisten & Glow top coat is perfect for nail art and stamping and is a long lasting glassy quick dry top coat. It dries fast, has a very glossy, high shine and floats well over nail art.
This top coats dries fast (about 4 minutes on me) and glows under blacklight. Also pairs beautifully with G&G Glitter Grabber if you picked that up in previous shops.

Da Balmer by Rogue Lacquer | Stay Salty

Description: Da Balm-er is a cross between a balm and body butter. It’s creamy like a body butter but has a more emollient feel like a balm would. It’s an intensive treatment you can use anywhere (I love it on cuticles of course) but a little goes a long way. If you use too much – it will feel very oily (like a balm would) so start with a little and build up if you need more.
A house blend of sea salt, cactus and dragonfruit!
This is an interesting scent and it’s light and sort of earthy to my nose.
