Out Of Oz Collection,
August 2016 Duo & Charity Polish
Originally, I was going to split this post up into 3 posts, BUT they all release today, so I decided to put them all in one spot. So this morning, I have the Pahlish Out Of Oz Collection, August 2016 Duo & Charity Polish to share with you! I’m going to be starting with the Out Of Oz Collection.
Altogether this post will contain 11 polishes, so sit tight, there is a lot of gorgeousness heading your way!
The Pahlish Out Of Oz collection is an 8 piece collection with some stunners. Let’s look a little more closely!
Pahlish Yellow Brick Road
Pahlish Yellow Brick Road is a warm yellow jelly base with metallic silver flakes and a strong scattered holographic effect. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Dorothy Gale
Dorothy Gale is a bright blue cream with blue and gold flakes mixed in and there is a very delicate blue to gold shimmer mixed in. My camera brightened this shade up just a touch more than it is. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Munchkinland
Munchkinland is a warm ivory crelly base with copper flakes and shimmer, but in the crelly base they actually appear more coral. I really loved this shade on and will probably be using it again soon with a matte top coat. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Elphaba Lives!
Elphaba Lives! is a soft minty chartreuse crelly with green shimmer and teal ultrachrome flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
And yes – minty chartreuse. I couldn’t decide which it was because it seemed a bit too yellow for a true mint, but a bit too green for a true chartreuse, so it’s in between.
Pahlish My Sister’s Shoes
My Sister’s Shoes is a metallic silver base with blue shimmer and a strong scattered holographic effect. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Blood and Rubies
Blood and Rubies is a rich violet red jelly base with copper, gold and violet to blue flakes and shimmer mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I could have gotten away with 2 normal coats for Blood and Rubies, but I wanted more depth with flakes, so I did did 3 thin ones.
Pahlish Saint Glinda
Saint Glinda is a smokey violet scattered holographic with violet-pink and red shimmers as well as red ultrachrome flakes. The scattered holographic is very tightly scattered and my camera flipped out trying to focus on all the elements of this shade.
I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Lurline
Lurline is a gorgeous iris purple jelly base with violet-pink flakes and a strong scattered holo finish. The flakes are very subtle and a nice addition to this polish to bump it up a notch.
I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Next we’ll move onto the August Duo!
The August Duo is called The Second Task
The August Duo is called The Second Task. I believe this is in reference to The Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
“If you look down at those golden eggs you’re all holding, you will see that they open … see the hinges there? You need to solve the clue inside the egg — because it will tell you what the second task is, and enable you to prepare for it!“
I could be wrong, but that’s what came to mind, and my Google-Fu skills confirmed it as far as I can tell!
Let’s look at the 2 shades in this set.
Pahlish Ponder This
Ponder This is an ultramarine blue creme. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Golden Egg
Golden Egg is a clear based top coat with a mix of metallic gold flakes, golden ultrachrome flakes, blue shimmer and blue iridescent glitter. I used 1 coat over Ponder This.
And finally we have the August Charity Polish!
Last month Pahlish started up the Monthly Charity Polish and each month Pahlish will pick a different organization/cause to feature and $2 for every bottle of the charity polish sold will be donated.
August 2016 brings us The Boxcar Children and the $2 from each bottle sold will go to Reading Is Fundamental. My son actually just read his first The Boxcar Children book, and I remember reading them when I was around his age. The name is perfect and it’s a great organization to donate to.
I’ve always, ALWAYS, been big on reading. My whole family is really. When I was younger I read a lot and always loved it, and luckily my son seems to be the same way. He’s currently reading The Indian In The Cupboard and I think it’s his 4th book since Summer vacation started.
Pahlish The Boxcar Children
The Boxcar Children is a raspberry red jelly base with silver flakes, violet-blue shimmer and a strong scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pahlish Out Of Oz Collection, August 2016 Duo & Charity Polish Overview
Pahlish Out Of Oz Collection, August 2016 Duo & Charity Polish are all beautifully done shades. The 3 sets of releases are all really well done, and we have Oz, Harry Potter and reading all in one big release, so my inner child is jumping for joy.
I tried to narrow down some favorites, but it was really difficult. I really loved how the crelly flakes were done and the color combos are fairly unique to my collection, and the shimmers and holos are just drool worthy. So really, you can’t go wrong with any of these.
