I’ve previously shown you both the ORLY Color Blast Disney Elsa and Belle collections that are exclusive to Walgreens – and of course when I heard they released 3 more recently – I went and bought them. This week they released Ariel, Mulan and Pocahontas. While my heart said “OMG YES!” my wallet said “DON’T YOU DARE DO IT!”
But I did it.
I’ll be showing you the Ariel collection first, because this is the one I was waiting for. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie done and I knew I would either be incredibly happy with this set

or incredibly disappointed (like with the Belle collection)

So let’s jump into this collection and see what I thought of it!
Hidden Treasures
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Hidden Treasures Swatch
Hidden Treasures is probably my hands down favorite of the set. This is a bright borderline neon red with a gorgeous subtle pink shimmer to it. I used 2 coats and a top coat for these photos.
I was thrilled that they did a shade to almost match Ariel’s hair. I had perfect application with this shade.
And one more closeup to get a better look at the shimmer.
Under The Sea
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Under The Sea Swatch
Under The Sea is a bright blue with fine aqua shimmer throughout. I do love the color of this, but application was a little bit of a pain. It does dry down to a satin finish, and it dries fast when applying. I added top coat to it, but without top coat it looked a little uneven. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Part Of Your World
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Part Of Your World Swatch
Part Of Your World is a clear based top coat with green microglitters and small holographic green hex glitters mixed in. I used 1 coat over Under The Sea and a glossy top coat.
Application was really good on Part Of Your World and glitters distributed evenly and the base was a good consistency so no fishing or goopiness in this one.
Magical Voice
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Magical Voice Swatch
Magical Voice is probably the one shade that didn’t fit the Ariel theme for me. This is a neon pink creme and I used 2 coats for these photos. Application was good and it’s a nice, standard neon pink. Nothing original for me, but I do like neon pinks.
I do think Magical Voice should have been a pale gold shimmer or something a little “magical” since in all scenes where her voice is taken or restored its a vibrant light.
Gadgets & Gizmos Mini Kit
Now for my main complaint. Each of the new sets has 4 full sized bottles (like the 4 shades I just showed you) and then a mini trio pack. Each trio pack contains 1 shade that is also available in a full size (in this case Magical Voice) and then 2 shades you can only get with the mini kit. I would have liked the option of buying them all in full size OR buying a mini kit to save money. To show you the full collections, I also purchased the mini kits.
Secret Grotto
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Secret Grotto Swatch
Secret Grotto is a pastel mint creme with a slightly dusty quality to it. Application was good and I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Dinglehopper
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Dinglehopper Swatch
Dinglehopper is a slightly dusty lavender creme. I used 2 coats for these photos, no application issues.
ORLY Color Blast Disney Ariel Collection Overview
Overall, I do think ORLY Color Blast did a good job on the Ariel collection. I loved that they did a stunning bright red for Ariel’s hair and overall I think the collection colors fit the theme. The only one out of place for me was Magical Voice. I would have liked to see an Ursula color in there – but I’m not complaining with what I got.
Under The Sea gave me some issues in application, so be prepared for that if you pick it up.
My biggest gripe is that to complete the collection, you have to buy a mini pack and I’m not a fan of minis. Luckily the shades in the mini pack that aren’t available in full size (Secret Grotto and Dinglehopper) aren’t incredibly original, so you probably can find duplicate shades elsewhere or even already in your collections.
Price: $6.99 Full Size | $10.99 for Mini Kit
Where To Buy: Exclusively at Walgreens
I will have the Mulan and Pocahontas sets up to show you within the next day or 2.
What did you think of the Ariel collection? Do you think ORLY Color Blast did The Little Mermaid justice?

I think that these represent the movie wonderfully! I am absolutely in love with the red…if I pick up any at full price, it’ll definitely be that one!
I was incredibly pleased that the colors for the most part made sense! But the red is a definite must have!
Definitely better than the B&B collection! I love the red one, indeed the color of Ariel’s hair.
Yes, huge step up! And they nailed the red to go with her hair!
I’m going back to Walgreens for the Ariels, I bought…uh, some from one of the others, and I eyeballed that coral like a kid in a candy store. I knew I needed it. Your macros are just killer!1
I actually didn’t realize that Hidden Treasures had shimmer until I put it on. It’s a gorgeous collection!
This is such a cute collection

That collection is perfect! I can totally see the inspiration behind each shade :)
I love Orly polishes, so it’s a bummer to hear that the formulas aren’t spot on for some of these. That neon red is really cool, though – I don’t know if I have anything like it!
The pink definitely reminds me of the pink dress she wore for at least part of the movie. :D
