Press Sample of Orly Breathable
Treatment + Color
Orly has a new line of polish that recently released – the Orly Breathable Treatment + Color line, and I have 6 of the shades to share with you.
Before we look at the colors closer, let’s talk about what these polishes are. The Orly Breathable Treatment + Color is basically all in one color. Each bottle is your base coat, color and top coat. In addition to being a one stop shop polish, each polish has added goodies like Argan Oil, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin C to help nourish and hydrate your nails.
The brush that comes with these bottles are flat, fairly wide and the bottom is slightly curved. For me, this made application really nice and I only needed 2 swipes down my nail per coat.
Let’s take a look at the 6 shades I received. Remember, these have base and top coat built into each bottle, so all photos are done without either one.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Beauty Essential
Beauty Essential is a bright coral red creme. This is borderline neon. It’s incredibly bright, but it doesn’t quite tip into the neon group. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Feeling Free
Feeling Free is a medium iris purple creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Fresh Start
Fresh Start is a pastel mint creme. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color And Healthy
This is probably my favorite of the 6! Happy and Healthy is another bright shade that borders neon, but doesn’t quite tip over into it. Happy and Healthy is a bright pastel guava pink creme. It’s described as a pastel coral by Orly, but I don’t find it red enough to be coral.
I used 2 coats for these photos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Just Breathe
Just Breathe is a periwinkle creme with a hint of shimmer. The shimmer is slightly visible in the bottle, but almost invisible on the nail. You can kind of see a hint of it on my nails where the light hits, but in person, it’s hard to see unless you get REALLY up close and personal with your nails. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color TLC
The finally shade I have to show you today is Orly TLC! TLC is a medium orchid creme. I used 2 coats for these phtoos.
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Overview
Ok first things first – the colors are really nice. All 6 shades I received are completely wearable to me, and they are well pigmented. Consistency on all 6 shades was also nice. None were runny and all of them applied nicely, spread evenly and just looked really well done. What do I think of the built in top and base coats? I actually like them! The polishes all looked really nice and glossy when they fully dried, and it did look like I had a thin layer of top coat on them. My ONLY thing is that I am really spoiled with quick dry top coats – so if you want a quicker dry time, those are still necessary. If you are just kicking back watching Netflix and have the time to let them fully dry as is, it will take about 25-35 minutes to fully dry.
I did find if my coats of polish were applied too thick, I got some minor bubbles, so thinner coats are recommended (for me at least). Aside from that, I found no other issue.
I didn’t have any staining (since I was sans base coat) but I also didn’t have any colors (aside from Beauty Essential possibly?) that usually cause staining problems. Blues and Teals are my nemesis when it comes to staining, but taking a quick peek – there are no blues or teals in the line yet to test that out.
I did have a BAD cut on my ring finger of my swatching hand and had taken a week off of swatching for my blog (seriously it was ugly and I didn’t want to subject people to it) so I tested out Happy and Healthy for a week to see how the wear was on me. I made it 4 days before I saw slight tip wear and 6 days before I chipped a small corner off my nail. I found this to be fairly typical of polishes where I do base coat, 2-3 coats of color and a top coat – so I got almost the same exact wear time in 2 steps that I usually get in 4-5 steps. I found that to be pretty good.

I think this is such a smart concept! I definitely plan to buy Happy & Healthy, a dupe for my favorite Milani Pink Beige
What a gorgeous collection, and it’s brilliant that these are breathable!
First off, your nails are gorgeous and I am so jealous! What a great concept to have base, color and top coat in one formula. I have used CND Vinylux which is a color and top coat only and will have to try the Orly ones now that I have seen how gorgeous they are.
Very pretty, and the all in one formula sounds nice. Not sure I’d have the patience to wait that long for drying though! lol
I saw Beauty Essential on your Instagram! It’s definitely my fave!
I love the purples!
I like the idea of these polishes. It’s a different take on all the ones that you have to buy their special topcoat for. Let’s Breathe and Hale & Hardy are the ones I’d buy.
I love these, but Happy & Healthy the best too!! It’s gorgeous!
