So I’m really behind on this review! I had set it aside during tax season and while moving things around I uncovered them… sorry!
So, while a little late, this is the OPI Spring 2015 Hawaii collection. There are 12 shades in the collection and they are available now (and have been for a couple months)
Since I’m already behind, let’s just jump into the photos!
Aloha From OPI
Aloha From OPI is one of my favorites from the collection. This is a red orange creme. The formula was on the thinner side, but didn’t flood my cuticles and I reached full opacity in 2 coats.
Do You Take Lei Away?
Do You Take Lei Away? is a light beige creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and had no issues with application.
Go With The Lava Flow
Go With The Lava Flow is a slightly dusty red creme with pink and gold shimmer. I used 2 coats for these photos. No application issues to report.
Hello Hawaii Ya?
Hello Hawaii Ya? is a dusty purple creme. I had no application issues and used 2 coats for these photos.
The below photo looks like I had application issues, but it was actually the top coat I used. I should have grabbed the new bottle of Seche and instead of using the bottom of the bottle.
Is Mai Tai Crooked?
Is Mai Tai Crooked? is another shade I really liked from this collection. This is a light, slightly dusty orange creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Just Lanai-ing Around
Just Lanai-ing Around is a pinky mauve creme and a subtle silver shimmer. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Lost My Bikini in Molokini
Lost My Bikini in Molokini is a slightly dusty medium toned purple. I used 2 coats for these photos.
My Gecko Does Tricks
My Gecko Does Tricks is a vibrant yellow toned green shimmer. The formula was fairly sheer and had visible brush strokes. I liked this better in the bottle than on the nail unfortunately. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Pineapple’s Have Peelings Too!
Pineapple’s Have Peelings Too! is one shade I probably could live without. It’s probably my least liked polish, but I know there are people out there who like it. This is a light frosty gold base with various sizes and colors of hex glitters. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Suzi Shops & Island Hops
Suzi Shops & Island Hops is a light pink creme. I had some slight streaking issues on my first 2 coats, but the third evened out.
That’s Hula-rious
That’s Hula-rious is a light mint creme. I used 2 coats for these photos and have actually used this a few times. I really love this shade!
This Color’s Making Waves
This Color’s Making Waves is a sheer blue base with intense green shimmer and bits of holo micro glitters it looks like. They were hard to capture. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Overview
Overall this was a nice collection. There weren’t too many shades that were incredibly original in it, but they were still nice. The most original ones for me were This Color’s Making Waves and Pineapples Have Peelings Too! For a collection of 12 polishes, I was rather surprised there weren’t too many formula issues in the collection.
I wasn’t overly impressed with this collection, but I also wasn’t disappointed with it.
Price: $9.50 retail ($5.95 CAN salon, $11.50 CAN retail)
WHERE TO FIND THEM: ULTA, ULTA.com, and select professional salons.
What did you think of this collection? Have you picked any up from it?
