November Nail Art Society – Feather Manicure
It’s been 2 days since I received my very first Nail Art Society subscription box, and I had some time today to test out a Feather Manicure. This is the first one I’ve done, and although it’s different… I don’t think its for me. Doesn’t mean I won’t do it again to mess with it more, I just won’t be doing it often.
For a recap of what was in my Nail Art Society Bag – check out the reveal blog post HERE
Alright, to start, I reread the back of the instruction card included in my package, looked up a YouTube Tutorial and checked out a friends Pinterest instructions.
I went through my little baggie of feathers and found one I liked, trimmed it down to size (width of the nail I wanted it on but just a tad longer). When I trimmed the feather, more than I anticipated “shed” from the middle. I decided to apply it with the fanned out part of the feather facing the tip on my nail.
It was a lot easier to do than I thought it would be. I used 2 coats of LVX Legendaire (which was also in the Nail Art Society Bag), added top coat to the whole mani. Then I placed the feather on my nail and lightly pressed down the feather down into the top coat. After the feather was in place I added another layer of top coat over the feather. Once completely dry I trimmed the excess feathers with a tiny pair of scissors.
Pretty simple to do, but I only did an accent nail because there were only 6 feathers in the baggie and 1 was blue, so would be hard to do 10 fingers that way ;)
If you are planning on attempting a feather mani, I highly recommend taking a look at Jessica’s Pinterest instructions for it HERE. She said you can get a bag of feathers pretty cheap at Michaels and other craft stores if you do not have a subscription with Nail Art Society. Jessica is one of the two ladies I generally run to with nail art questions!
