Press Sample of the Night Owl Lacquer
Psych Collection and March COTM
Over the next week you’ll see some recently released collections pop up here. These were sets that either got delayed in USPS limbo, or that arrived around the time of the move and I hadn’t been able to get to. Once we moved, there were some hiccups that delayed me swatching right away and I’m playing catchup. Good news is – almost all are swatched, so they are rolling out. Better news is… once I’m caught up I should be able to stay that way since things are more permanent and I don’t feel like I’m scrambling anymore.
Tonight we’re going to take a look at the Night Owl Lacquer Psych Collection and March COTM which released March 19th.
This is a fun, colorful and unique release that I really enjoyed. At first I was like “well those are kinda funky” but on the nail I was pretty impressed with the finish and the colors.
The Psych collection is inspired by the show Psych. I have binge watched this show a few times and it’s entertaining and makes a good time filler when swatching and editing photos. Shawn and Gus are a fun duo to watch, and the polishes are named after some of the most used exclamations by them, and then one is inspired by the theme song.
I also have the March Creme Of The Month to share too.
Let’s jump in.
Night Owl Lacquer | Custard
Custard is a pale butter yellow creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I was rather surprised because it does lean into pastel territory, however it didn’t apply patchy or chalky.
Night Owl Lacquer | C’mon Son
C’mon Son is a bright, medium orange jelly base with bronze metallic micro flakes, as well as blue to purple multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | I’ve Heard It Both Ways
I’ve Heard It Both Ways is a bright purple jelly base with purple metallic micro flakes and red to copper to gold multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Not Inclined To Resign To Maturity
Not Inclined To Resign To Maturity is a bright chartreuse green jelly base with yellow metallic micro flakes and copper to gold, as well as lime to green to blue multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Suck It
Suck It is a bright coral leaning pink jelly base with red metallic micro flakes, as well as green to teal and blue to purple multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Wait For Iiiiit!
Wait For Iiiiit! is a bright green jelly base with green metallic micro flakes and purple to red to yellow to green multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | You Know That’s Right
You Know That’s Right is a bright blue jelly base with blue metallic micro flakes and purple to burgundy to copper multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Psych Collection and March COTM
Night Owl Lacquer continues to come up with collections with a unique style, and something about this one reminds me of some of her earlier releases – but with a more grown up vibe.
My top pics from this one are Wait For Iiiiit!, Suck it, and Not Inclined to Resign to Maturity.
