Neon Sunset Collection & June Creme of the Month
It’s pretty late, but I still have enough oomph to do a post! I’ve been swatching away all day and making a good dent in my swatch pile today. Minecraft released something new and both Nick and Jacob are playing it – so I had some quiet time and was able to focus. I did do these swatches Thursday night – so everything I did today will be for future releases that you’ll see soon.
Tonight we’re looking at the Night Owl Lacquer Neon Sunset Collection & June Creme of the Month!
It is neon season – so in order to get fairly color accurate photos, my skin will be darker and sometimes blotchy. Neons are notoriously difficult to photograph for multiple reasons – so this is the best I can do.
The Neon Sunset Collection is a 4 piece collection that consists of 3 neons that are perfect for an ombré or gradient effect, and honestly I hope Night Owl Lacquer releases more small collections like this for other color families. I think it was a fun way to do it.
We’ll start with the collection and then move into the color of the month. All of these did release yesterday (the 29th) so they are available to pick up now.
Night Owl Lacquer | Glowing, Glowing, Gone
Glowing, Glowing, Gone is a neon yellow leaning orange creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Slowly Sinking
Slowly Sinking is a mid toned, slightly peach leaning orange creme. This is slightly lighter than a neon traffic cone orange. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Final Fire
Final Fire is a neon red leaning orange creme. This is my favorite of the neons and freaked my camera out the most. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl Lacquer | Fading Light
Fading Light is a clear based topper filled with pink to red to yellow shimmer, as well as 3 different color variations of shifting crystal chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for the first set of photos to show it alone, then I used it over all 4 cremes shown in this post (the 3 in the collection as well as the COTM) plus I used it over a black creme as well.

Feeling Blue Without You is a mid tone blue creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Like I said before – I love the concept of the small collection with a trio of cremes within the same color family and a topper to compliment them and would SO love to see more like it. Like an aqua, turquoise and teal set… and a lavender, lilac and violet set… maybe even baby pink, bubblegum pink and Barbie pink.
I had no application with any of these shades and they preformed nicely and the opacity was perfection. No “undies” were needed for these photos – and they’re actually much brighter in person.
