Ok so I realize this is a beauty blog… but sometimes when you are having ‘beauty woes’ and things just aren’t going right, you need candy to fix it. That’s how I’m justifying a candy review ;)
I’m a big kid at heart still. I have an 8 year old son and I love buying him fun candies all year long, but the GOOD stuff seems to come out at Christmas!
Yeah, you see the name? Gobstopper Candy Canes. I freaking LOVE Gobstoppers and was so excited to see them in candy cane form! Just like the original Gobstoppers by Wonka, these candy canes change colors as they shrink and the centers are sweet tart filled. These. Are. Amazing. I even went out and hunted down another box after I got this review package.
Retail Price: $2.49 for a 12 pack (and worth every penny)
The second item I received was the Sweetarts Merry Mix! I have a sweet tooth and of course I love these! These are your typical Sweetarts, but in just the colors red and green and in fun holiday shapes! The shapes include bells, trees, and snowmen.
My son’s classroom holiday party came up and I found the PERFECT thing to use these with!
I got mini vanilla cupcakes with green and white frosting and added a Sweetart to each one!
Here’s the recipe!
Ingredients to make mini vanilla cupcakes
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
1 large egg
1 3/4 cups vanilla frosting
Red and Green food coloring
Sweetart Merry Mix
The kids LOVED them and they came out super cute!
Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! I know I did and I’m LOVING the Nestle candy I got (and my son had a LOT of Nestle candy stuffed into his stocking this year!)
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
