I’ve got a pretty full swatch day ahead of me and hoping to get a few posts out to catch up to releases, and I’m kicking this super hot Saturday off with the NCLA Lakodom From Russia With Love Collection!
I’m trying to get as much done as possible today before we get to top temps. It’s supposed to hit 113 and I’m just not made for this ‘melt your face off’ weather. Usually we get into the low 100’s here during the Summer, but 113 is just a whole lotta nope for me.
The NCLA Lakodom From Russia With Love Collection is a 5 piece holographic collection. Lakodom is a stockist in Russia (if you weren’t aware) but you can find this collection on the Color4Nails site as well! Also, don’t forget you can use my Affiliate Code CSant10 at checkout to get 10% off your whole order.
Let’s take a look at these 5 gorgeous holos!
Far North
Far North is a pale dove grey linear holographic. While I do like this polish, I was actually a little let down with how the holo appears on the nail. In the bottle it’s really noticeable, but it doesn’t translate to the nail that way. It is there, but it dulls (before top coat even, so that’s not the issue) and it’s harder to see. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Steppe
Steppe is a gold jelly based linear holographic. This is super holo and stunning. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Volga
Volga is a deep cool toned purple linear holographic that almost borders on a blurple. In some lighting it looks more blue, in others it looks more purple. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Kamchatka
Kamchatka is a medium brick red linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Siberia
Siberia is a medium forest green linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
NCLA Lakodom From Russia With Love Collection Overview
Overall this is a beautiful collection, but Far North felt like a little bit of a let down in comparison to the other 4 holographics. Aside from Far North, the holographic in each shade is intense and incredibly gorgeous and I love the base colors selected for each polish. Application wise, all were good in 2 coats expect Steppe because it was more of a jelly base and required more coverage.
In case you missed in, NCLA Sunstruck just released yesterday and it’s the Color4Nails exclusive shade!
