As I said in yesterday’s post, Color4Nails is expanding the brands their shop carries – and NCLA is one of the brands new to the store! I received the 10 NCLA Holographics to share with you tonight.
Don’t forget – if you use the code CSant10 at checkout on the Color4Nails site you receive 10% off your ENTIRE order!
Before we jump in I do want to say that I first grabbed my Seche Vite to top coat these, but Seche seemed to dull the holo effect. I redid the first couple of photos with Girly Bits What A Rush top coat instead and it didn’t seem to dull them. So just a heads up – the top coat you use may change the intensity of the linear holographic within the polish.
Ready to see these holos?
Redicalist
Redicalist isn’t just a stunning holo – it’s also a new addition to the family of NCLA X Pshiiit! collaboration shades.
Redicalist is a slightly darkened raspberry red linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Mermaid Tales
Mermaid Tales is a heather purple linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Spaced Out
Spaced Out is a brightened blue linear holographic. Of all 10 shades I received, this had a softer and looser holo in comparison. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I do suggest a nice base coat for this, it leaves a very faint stain behind.
From LA To Anywhere
From LA To Anywhere is described by NCLA as a black linear holographic, but it looks more of a charcoal gray than black. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lightyears Ahead
Lightyears Ahead is a silver linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Vacation On Mars
Vacation On Mars is a soft lavender linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Iridescent Dreams
Iridescent Dreams is a rosy pinkish purple linear holographic that had a slightly sheer formula. The more coats, the darker it seemed to get as well. I found the bottle shot provided by the brand was a bit deceiving because I was expecting a much darker color. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Out Of This World
Out Of This World is a medium purple linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Teal The End
Teal The End is freaking STUNNING. I will also start this off saying its a smidgen darker in person than my photo shows. This is a gorgeous medium teal linear holographic. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Drop Of Teal
Drop Of Teal is a beautiful brighter teal linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
NCLA Holographics Overview
Overall – a stunning collection of holographics. I am completely drawn to the more ‘metalure’ type holographics like Vacation On Mars and Lightyears Ahead. I had no real application issues with these polishes and most were fully opaque in 2 coats, except Iridescent Dreams which required 3 coats.
A few of the bottles I received had slightly wonky “cat whisker” like brushes. I simply trimmed the flyaway bristles, but I did notify Color4Nails that I was experiencing this and she is going to do her best to take care of it with NCLA.
If you happen to get a bottle like this, they are still workable, but trimming them is just fine.
