You Can’t Swim With Us Collection

Good afternoon and happy Sunday! I’ve been enjoying a relaxing day staying bundled up indoors and listening to the rain outside. We finally have rain in California! I’m not looking forward to driving in it tomorrow, but for now, I like it. If you have ever driven in California while it’s even misting outside, you know why I don’t want to drive in it.
Today I have the NCLA You Can’t Swim With Us collection as well as a new collaboration shade NCLA created with Pshiiit!
You Can’t Swim With Us is a 5 piece collection with a variety of finishes in silvery to blue tones but the Pshiiit shade fits in nicely with it’s green hue.
These are available now at Color4Nails so don’t forget you can use the code CSant10 to snag these (and more!) for 10% off your order.
My hands are actually freezing, so I’m going to stop typing so much and move onto the polishes! We’ll start with the Pshiiit shade and then onto the collection.
Persephone
Persephone is a slightly dusty menthol green with silver holographic particles mixed in. The holo is more like microshards than a shimmer, so when the light reflects off them they really light up. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Glistening Scales
Glistening Scales is a clear base packed with micro and regular hex iridescent glitters. I used 1 coat of Glistening Scales over Pretty Serious Cosmetics Granny Panties for these photos.
I’m Really A Mermaid
I’m Really A Mermaid is a deep blue jelly base with blue, green and purple hex glitters mixed in. Because of the lighting I use, it really makes the base seem less opaque. While there IS visible nail line without the lighting, it’s not this translucent in person, the macros are more realistic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Saltwater Baths
Saltwater Baths is a deep navy blue tightly scattered holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Sea Shell Dress
Sea Shell Dress is an incredibly pale mint pearl base with silver microglitter mixed in. I like this polish, but the silver glitters are a bit thicker than the polish base when it dries down, which leaves a very slight texture. I used 2 coats of top coat to smooth out completely, but visually, you can still see the glitter vs base difference. Shown is 2 coats and 2 coats of top coat.
The Last Siren
The Last Siren is my favorite from the collection. This is a charcoal grey holographic. The holo effect is similar to Persephone where it’s more like micro shards vs a shimmery holo effect, but in just about every light, I was able to see a very prominent holo. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Also, with normal lighting, it doesn’t look as translucent, but after seeing these photos, I probably should have gone with 3 coats to be safe.
NCLA You Can’t Swim With Us Collection Overview
Altogether I like this collection, but the NCLA holos still win it for me. Their formula was really nice on all 6 shades, but I will have to mention that all 6 brushes had flyaway bristles. Not a ton, but 3-6 per brush. I have had this issue with their brushes in the past, and I just snip off the offending bristles so I don’t have polishing issues.

I do have more Color4Nails goodies coming up, and today was a restock for Color4Nails and I believe they restocked and launched MoYou London plates, Bow Polish, Dance Polish, and Polish Con LE shades, so take a look at those too while you are over there. My code is good for all of these as well (you would save 10%)
Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend, I’ll be back soon with more!

These are all so gorgeous!
I love the theme for this collection. They’re all pretty but the Mermaid one is my fave. The Sea Shell Dress reminds me of barnacles, but the texture issue would bug me. Pretty nonetheless!
They’re all lovely on you
The Last Siren is calling to me.
Ugh. I didn’t mean to do that. Really.
Such beautiful colors!
Their polishes always make me happy.
