As I mentioned in a past post, things have been crazy around these parts and I’m going to be last minute on a few releases (but still very close to on time!) I have time to squeeze in one review before my lunch hour is over, so we’re going to take a look at the Nail Hoot Glory Story Collection!

The Nail Hoot Glory Story collection is a 7 piece pastel collection with matte black glitters and a very subtle hint of shimmer. The shimmer is hard to see on the nail and a little more visible in the bottle.

My skin tone will be a little darker in these photos since pastels generally do that to me. These are very nicely done and are reminiscent of the speckled eggs. This is a slightly larger color selection to what I usually see for the black matte glitters – so it was a nice setup.

Nail Hoot | Garden Plot

Garden Plot is a soft mint creme base with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Nail Hoot | Crime of Passion

Crime of Passion is a soft, cool pink pastel with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Nail Hoot | Royal Pardon

Royal Pardon is a cool toned lavender pastel creme with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. . I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Nail Hoot | Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone is a softened white creme base with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I say “softened” white because it’s more marshmallow like and not blinding, bright, pure white.

Nail Hoot | Rise & Shine

Rise & Shine is the brightest of the 7 shades. This is a pastel lemon yellow creme with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters.

Nail Hoot | Heavenly Sunrise

Heavenly Sunrise is an pastel apricot orange creme with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Nail Hoot | Hope Renewed

Hope Renewed is a sky blue creme with subtle shimmer flecks and matte black square and hex glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade is a bit softer in person.

Nail Hoot | Glory Story Collection

So overall, this is a great set if you love the pastel speckled egg look. Application was quite nice and they weren’t chalky like some pastels can be. What I did notice though, the shades I did 3 thin coats on did need 2 coats of top coat for a completely smooth finish. When you layer up more and glitters overlap, they can raise higher than the polish once dry. It’s not gritty texture, but just enough of a bump that you might pick at it. All the 2 coat ones I did, didn’t have this issue. It seemed to be coat 3 where I started overlapping more.
