Milani has released another Limited Edition Coming Up Roses powder blush collection. Last years 4 piece limited edition collection sold out super fast, so I was excited to see they did another set, but this time they went bold and bright with the colors.
I remember loving the Coming Up Roses set Milani released last year and had very high hopes for this years collection, unfortunately, I wasn’t completely impressed with them. Overall, I love Milani as a brand and have very few, if any issues with their products – but these blushes didn’t impress me like the last collection did.
All 4 powder blushes are described as petal soft, finely milled and rose colored pigments (to go with the theme).
Let’s take a look.
Coral Cove
Coral Cove is a matte bright orange coral. The color? Gorgeous. The application? Slightly chalky. It was workable, but I had to apply it with a light hand, and then use a fluffy powder brush to swipe over the application area to dust off excess.
Lady Rouge
Lady Rouge is a hot pink toned red matte shade. This one was different from the other 3 blushes. It was harder to work with and I could barely get any color with it. Instead of feeling powdery to the touch, it actually felt harder than usual. Bad batch? I don’t know. It was definitely not in line with the other blushes.
Love Potion
Love Potion is a deep rose matte blush. This one actually gave me the best pigmentation for the least amount of work. It blended easier and had the finely milled feeling I remember the last collection having.
Tea Rose
Tea Rose is probably the “safest” blush in the collection. This is a light rose matte shade. Pigmentation is decent, but still a little on the chalky side.
Overview
While I generally love the products Milani puts out, and I really loved last years Coming Up Roses Limited Edition collection, this one didn’t seem to be as good as the original 4 piece set. The colors were nice and they are usable – but you need to be careful while applying. If you have dryer skin, be careful with it. Matte shades tend to cling to dry spots and can accentuate the dryness. Do I like this years Coming Up Roses collection? Yes. Do I love it? No. The packaging and presentation is beautiful and I love the rose pattern. Almost to pretty to use!
Price: $7.99
Availability: You can find these in select Walgreens stores as well as on the Milani Website
So what do you think? Will you be picking these up?

Yeah, Temptalia’s review on these was similar…they weren’t wowed either and complained of the chalkiness. Too bad, they’re pretty.
It’s really disappointing because the first release was really amazing and I still use them, so seeing that formula compared to this… it was a let down
I find it refreshing and I’m so glad to see an honest review. Because for me a review for me is insight to the product to see if any issues the blogger has found will be a problem for me. If there I don’t buy if its on the line than I buy and make my own choice. But I ‘d rather hear this is a problem with something instead of seeing a review that says no I had no problems with when they did
