Mentality The Brilliant Holo Collection Part One

by Lisa Heath

***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***

If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]

I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.

Mentality Week continues!  For day 3 I will be showing you the first half of The Brilliant Holo’s Collection!  A lot of these I have reviewed before, but I decided to dip back in and reswatch some!  This was one of the first collections I ever reviewed for Mentality and still my favorite!  Since my first post, they have added a few colors to the collection so instead of just doing the new ones, you will get to revisit all of them!

The Brilliant Holo Collection is slightly different than other holographic collections I have used.  It isn’t the typical creme or jelly with holo particles.  Mentality’s holographics are VERY lightly textured with holo and colored, fine microglitters in a base, together they create a gorgeous holo that blends the color in.  As you will see in the photos, the fine microglitters used creates a gorgeous effect.  Also, when I say ‘textured’ – I do not mean a gritty, bumpy mess.  They are still fairly smooth to the touch, but not like a creme would be.

Let’s get started!

Elation:

Elation

Elation is a favorite!  Oh, who am I kidding?  This whole collection is a favorite!  Elation is a sparkling teal holographic polish with fuchsia accents.  I only needed 2 coats for this photo!

Fervor:

Fervor

Fervor is a sparkling lavendar holographic polish with turquoise accents.  I wore this for a few days because I just wasn’t ready to remove it!  I only needed 2 coats for this photo.

Nirvana:

Nirvana

Nirvana is a sparkling orange toned bronze holographic polish with copper accents.  The day I wore this I was wearing all black and it really made my nails pop.  Gorgeous!  I only needed 2 coats for this!

Rapture:

Rapture

Because of my work schedule, I was only able to catch the sun long enough to get 1 swatch in.  Rapture got that chance!  This was featured in my Top 12 Indies of 2012 post!  Rapture is a sparkling coppery red holographic polish.  This is an amazingly unique holographic polish to my collection and still my #1 Mentality polish!  I only needed 2 coat for this photo.

Moksha:

Moksha

Moksha is a sparkling light pink holographic polish with copper accents.  A very stunning color!  I used 2 coats of Moksha for this photo.

With the exception of Rapture, all of these photos were taken indoors in normal lighting.  In the sun, the holo effect is stunning, but I also love how they look indoors.  Unique and eye catching!

Mentality Nail Polish recently implemented new pricing on their website!  All polishes in The Brilliant Holo Collection are only $8.00 for a 15 ml bottle (down from $9.00)
