***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***
If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]
I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.
Today’s post really makes me smile. Want to know why? Well either way I’m going to tell you, so you might as well just say “sure”!
2 years ago, a fairly new indie hit the scene. I got a message from a lovely couple asking if I would do a review for them. I was still in my first year of blogging and hadn’t approached indies to review for, so this was exciting for me. An indie brand wanted me to swatch for them. That brand was Mentality and they sent me some mini bottles of their Metallic Collection. (if you want to see an OLD review and how long my talon nails use to be… go here)
Why am I reposting this collection? Well, a lot has changed in 2 years (besides my nail length and photo quality) and over time Mentality has removed some shades from the Metallics Collection, and they’ve also added some shades. So because of that, I find it worth reposting!
Aspire
Aspire is a yellow green metallic nail polish with gold flecks within it. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Demand
Demand isa bright orange metallic nail polish with gold flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Essential
Essential is a blue purple metallic nail polish with gold flecks. Probably one of my favorites from this collection! I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Fancy
Fancy is a yellow metallic nail polish with gold flecks. As I was swatching this one I got the song “Fancy” stuck in my head. Thank you Mentality.
I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lust
Lust was part of the original Metallics collection. Lust is a coppery red metallic nail polish with gold flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Need
Need is a blue green metallic nail polish with gold flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Passion
Another favorite! Passion is a red-purple metallic nail polish with gold flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Require
Require is an aqua metallic nail polish with gold flecks. This is not to be confused with Requested which is a teal holographic jelly from Mentality. Both are gorgeous though! I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Wish
Wish is an orangey peach metallic nail polish with gold flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Overview
This collection brings back memories and reminds me of my earlier blogging days. Mentality and I have had a longstanding blogger/maker relationship that I have thoroughly enjoyed and I can only hope they feel the same. The Metallics Collection is still an amazing collection with a great metallic look (not chrome, but metallic!) and a subtle gold shimmer. Each shade only needs 2 coats for full opacity and in some cases, they are almost 1 coaters.
Price: $6.50 Each

Great shades! I think Lust is my favourite – I also love the names! :)
Fancy is my jam!
These are a bit too metallic in finish for my taste, but I love the shade of Need. Your swatches are flawless!
