Polish Pickup | Album Covers

Where did February go? I know it’s a shorter month, but it flew by. I spent the last week sick, so this is going up a few days later than I planned. I’m starting to work on this on a Sunday night, but it most likely won’t be live until Monday night… but here’s the March 2019 Polish Pickup Album Covers post from me!

This month is a whopper. I have 66 items to share with you. 9 are part of Indie Pickup and 57 are for Polish Pickup. I won’t lie, this was a rough month. Not because of the amount of items I received, but because it’s a shorter month – and I was sick for 9 days. It’s still lingering, but I’m more functional.

Due to being sick, all thermals I had this month are only photographed in transition. I had a fever and none would stay in cold state long enough for photos, but you do see all transitions in each shot – so that works fine.

Since Polish Pickup and Indie Pickup is now a combined shop (The Pickups) I am doing one giant post vs 2 separate ones. As usual, if there’s a particular polish you came to look at and don’t want to scroll through everything – hit CTRL + F if you are on desktop and search the brand name.

1850 Artisan Polish | Lunar Eclipse

Inspiration: Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon

Description: Lunar Eclipse is a black (cold) to pale grey (warm) linear holographic with scattered holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The first coat is on the sheer side, and the pale grey (warm) state is closer to clear. I bet this would work as a topper if you did 1 coat over a cream base in another shade to make it a black to whatever the undie color is. I haven’t tried it, but it’s definitely possible.

Inspiration: Liz Phair’s Girly – Sound To Guyville

Description: It Was All Her, All Along is a red leaning purple multichrome that shifts red to purple topink to orange to gold at extreme angles. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Alter Ego Body Care Products | Little Green Apple Wax Melt

Inspiration: The Temptations “Puzzle People” album, 1st song on side B is “Little Green Apples”

Description: Little Green Apple Wax Melt has a very light and sweet green apple scent. On dry sniff, you do have to get fairly close to smell the green apple. It’s not super strong. When melted though, it’s still on the lighter side – but the scent of green apple fills the room. I’d say the scent leans more into green apple candy like scent vs fresh green apples.

Description: It’s Britney B*tch is a mix of magenta to purple to blue ultrachrome chameleon flakes, metlalic flakes, gold flakes and color shifting flakes. Basically everything flakey thrown into a clear base and bottled up. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspiration: American Teen Album from Khalid

Description: Young Dumb & Broke is an oxford blue jelly base loaded with sapphire blue shimmer,as well as gold and blue holographic microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade will have a light texture due to the glitters, but it smoothed over perfectly with 1 coat of top coat.

Description: Nail Nectar is a cuticle oil in a glass container with a metal rollerball applicator. The scent is Cherry Red Lips and it’s a sweet, slightly tart cherry scent mellowed out with the scent of bubbling champagne.

Cuticula | Timeless Top Coat in Cherry Red Lips

Inspiration: Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Album

Description: Timeless Top Coat is a high gloss top coat that is 5 Free. While it does dry on the faster side, it is not a typical quick dry top coat.

You can use it over nail art, but you have to be careful to float the brush over the design so the brush barely touches the nail.

Much like the Nail Nectar and Static Base – this has a lovely scent of cherries and champagne.

Description: A Strange Day is a dusty violet tinged mauve crelly base with red to gold shifting aurora shimmer, red and silver holo micro shreds and red to copper to orange ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

There is some texture due to all the flakes. May require 2 coats of top coat if you go beyond 2 coats of polish.

Description: Funhouse is a coral red (cold) to coloreless (warm) thermal and loaded with pale gold flakes and hot pink to gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

My photos pull the coral more orange, it’s actually not that orange in person and has more red.

Despite the flake content appearance, everything lays flat and there is no texture.

Inspiration: Young The Giant

Description: Superposition is a cobalt blue jelly base with red to green color shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This polish is on the sheerer side and does build up nicely, but it would also work nicely over a cobalt blue base if you want a bit more opaqueness.

Inspiration: Coldplay’s 1999 Album Parachutes

Description: Parachutes is a gold to bronze to copper multichrome with magnetic multichrome flakes that shift gold to copper to red, as well as holographic microglitters.

I personally found the magnetic effect to be on the subtle side. It is more visible in person.

This shade dries down matte naturally so you can also wear it that way!

This shade has a very light texture, but I only needed 1 coat of top coat to smooth.

Inspiration: Prince’s Purple Rain Album, more specifically a nod to another one of Prince’s songs, Raspberry Beret.

Description: Raspberry Beret Sugar Scrub smells like freshly picked berries. It smells slightly tart and very juicy.. it actually made me crave raspberries! This scrub is a smaller grain for a gentle exfoliation while still being effective… plus there’s a touch of shimmer at the top!

Inspiration: Genie from Aladdin

Description: Illuminate can be used as a polish or a stamping polish. THis is a periwinkle blue with purple shimmer. I used 2 thin coats on 2 nails and stamped over a black creme on 2 nails.

If you use normal coats, this is a 1 coat polish. Also – the bottle looks swirly, but it applied just fine.

Inspiration: Rob Zombie – American Made Music To Strip By

Description: This lotion makes my hands so happy! Living Dead Girl is a sweet mixed fruity type with top notes of strawberry, coconut, and pineapple, middle notes of gardenia and pear, with a sugary vanilla base note. I also pick up whiffs of cherry.. but I do have a cold, so it might be due to that.

This is a thicker lotion that soaks in nicely.

Description: 3 Lip Balms in 3 different scents – Lemon Drop, Grape Candy & Sugared Strawberry. These smell so freaking good. My favorite is Sugared Strawberry, which is a sugary sweet strawberry scent. Lemon Drop is a sugary lemon with a bit of tang and Grape Candy is a sweet grape candy scent. To match the scent, these are also lightly flavored.

The lip balms coat nicely and soften the lips perfectly.

Description: Gangsta is a warm violet jelly base with red to gold to green aurora shimmer, as well as red to orange to green to yellow crystal shifting flakes and blue to green to purple shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The formula is on the sheerer side but builds up nicely. It can be used as a topper over other colors as well.

STELLA CHROMA | Sugar Scrub in Amber Glow

Inspiration: Cool Amber and Mercury from Kasvot Växt í rokk

Description: Amber Glow isn’t new to us! This was in a previous PPU and was a huge hit, so I’m thrilled to see it back.

Amber Glow is a warm scent with notes of citrus and amber, mellowed out with vanilla and a slight musk. When this released previously, I bought an extra jar – and I’ve used both jars up completely!

Ingredients: Sugar, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth 20, beeswax, Tocopherol, phenoxyethanol and caprylyl clycol, fragrance oil

March 2019 Polish Pickup | Album Covers

And that’s all folks! Of course this is only about half of what’s available in the Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup shop. This month offers a ton of gorgeous shades and again, I’m loving the mix. In the early months of PPU it felt like a ton of purple variations, and the last few months it feels more leveled out.

Again, as far as thermals go, I usually show hot and cold states completely – but I had a fever through 80% of the swatch load, so it just wasn’t possible.

I know the collage shows 66 items, but 1 item showed up this morning as I was typing this, so 67 is the final count.
