I’m running a couple days late with this post, but better late than never. It’s been a crazy few weeks and I still have a couple more Black Friday posts to complete as well. It’s time for another month of Makers Dozen! For December 2019 the theme is Cartoons!

Since this is all still new, we’ll go over what the Makers Dozen is about and how it works:

Makers Dozen has 12 set makers each month. Those makers are:
Jior Couture, Sassy Pants Polish, Zombie Claw Polish, PI Colors, Copacetic Cosmetics, Baby Girl Lacquer, LynB Designs, Leesha’s Lacquers, NeVerMind Polish, Alter Ego Nail Enamel, Ms. Sparkle, and Inspurrrations. For December, the guest maker is Red Eyed Lacquer!

Each month will have a new theme, December is Cartoons. Each maker is given a color to work with, and each month the color for each maker rotates. So if a maker does purple for July, they won’t do purple as their main color scheme again for 13 months as it rotates through. While each maker is given a color, they have creative freedom on how to use and incorporate that color. It can be within any shade range of that particular color or a prominent element within the polish.

If you noticed I called this a collaboration and not a shop. There is no set “shop” for this. Each polish is available in each individual maker’s store. Only 40 bottles of each polish will be made and they will be available in each store until their 40 bottles sell out.

As of right now Delanie of Swatch The Box and I are the “official” swatchers for this box so you have a set blog and a set live view for posts, but each maker had the ability to send to their own swatchers as well. To see more swatches, you can join the Makers Dozen Facebook Group.

Jior Couture | Orange Blossom

Color: Orange

Orange Blossom is a matte orange base with bronze and gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This applied with a jelly like appearance and allowed time to completely cover the nail before going matte, so I didn’t have issues with “dragging”.

Sassy Pants Polish | Ruh-roh!

Color: Brown

Ruh-roh is a metallic like chocolate brown base loaded with copper scattered holo, as well as blue to green ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy topcoat for these photos.

Zombie Claw | Personal Flurry

Color: Grey

Personal Flurry is a sheer, pale grey crelly base with pink to gold to green flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is intentionally sheer, so VNL still shows through. You can apply over a pale grey base to avoid this.

PI Colors | Azarath.000

Color: White

Azarath.000 is a white crelly base loaded with purple red aurora shimmer, violet blue shimmer and blue to gold to purple chameleon and iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Copacetic Cosmetics | The Doom Song

Color: Green

The Doom Song is a bright grass green jelly base with 3 different sizes of silver holographic glitter; micro, small and medium. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Baby Girl Lacquer | Stronger Than You (Thermal)

Color: Magenta

Stronger Than You is a deep magenta (cold) to light, bright magenta (warm) thermal with pink shimmer and small metallic flakes mixed in that flash gold, green, purple and blue. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is on the sheer side, but builds up nicely.

LynBDesigns | Chaos Is How I Learn

Color: Clear

Chaos is How I Learn is a clear base with strong violet to blue aurora shimmer, as well as scattered holo. I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Color: Red

Most Lovable Dog is a strawberry red jelly with 3 different types of holo mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

NeVerMind Polish | Marvelous Mad Madam

Color: Purple

Marvelous Mad Madam is a lavender creme with violet shimmer, as well as pink and purple shreds mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Alter Ego | Tweets for Peanuts

Color: Yellow

Tweets For Peanuts is a clear base with 2 different types of holo yellow microglitters mixed in. One is more lemon yellow while the other leans more chartreuse which gives a nice balance. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This dries down with a slight texture, so you might need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

Ms. Sparkle | Experiment 628

Color: Blue

Experiment 628 is a sheer blue jelly base loaded with blue and red glitters in small and medium, as well as intense turquoise shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This dries down with a texture, so you might need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

Inspurrrations | Cheshire Grin

Color: Pink

Cheshire Grin is a bright, cool toned pink crelly base with pink and purple micro glitters, as well as purple micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Color: Black

Defender of the Universe is a black (cold) to clear (warm) thermal with green to cyan to sapphire and pink to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes, as well as gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Makers Dozen December 2019 | Cartoons

I thought last month was my favorite month, but this one might beat it. All 13 creations are ones I would wear and looked incredible on my skintone. I had no application issues with any of the shades.

Each individual price is shown within each listing as well as the shop link to grab that polish from. You have the whole month to shop, but there are only 40 bottles of each shade. Once 40 bottles sell, that’s it. If you missed a color from a previous Makers Dozen month, you can browse my posts ( I have all of them!) and see if any are left to pick up.
