November 2016 90’s Movies
Tonight I have the next, and sadly the last, Magic 8 Box to share with you. The November 2016 Magic 8 Box has a theme of 90’s Movies. Pretty much all of these movies were big from end of my elementary school years and through high school (I graduated class of 2000, so most were still popular in my high school years)
Here’s the breakdown for the Magic 8 Box (if you are new to it): it will contain products from 8 brands. 4 will be permanent brands (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, Rica and My Indie Polish) as well as 4 guest makers. For November the guest brands are Cameo Colours Lacquers, Darling DIva Polish, Anchor & Heart Lacquer and Supernatural Lacquer. The theme they worked with (as I already mentioned) is 90’s Movies.
So let’s take a look at these shades and what movies the makers worked with!
Anchor & Heart Dino DNA
Anchor & Heart Lacquer took on Jurassic Park! Dino DNA is a deep green scattered holo with blue shimmer and scattered micro glitters for added sparks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Darling Diva Polish – The Sucked His Brains Out!
Darling Diva Polish took on Starship Troopers which was pretty much what everyone at my school watched repeatedly. They Sucked His Brains Out! is a pale pink holographic with gold shimmer and gold flecks mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Philly Loves Lacquer – Aww, Honey You Baked!
Philly Loves Lacquer took on the classic… Clueless! Aww, Honey You Baked is a rose pink scattered holographic with silver micro flakes, silver galaxy glitters and silver holo microglitter mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Cameo Colours Lacquer – Victims, Aren’t We All?
Cameo Colours Lacquers took on The Crow. Victims, Aren’t We All? is a deep, blood red jelly base with red micro flakes, black and red holographic micro glitters and silver holo micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
My Indie Polish – The Matrix
My Indie Polish took on The Matrix! The Matrix is a black jelly base packed with green shimmer, green sparks, moss green glitter and teal galaxy glitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Rica – Deep Shit, Arkansas
Rica took on Thelma & Louise with the shade Deep Shit, Arkansas! Deep Shit, Arkansas is a sky blue linear holographic with scattered holo bits and micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers – Heart Of The Ocean
Smokey Mountain Lacquers took on Titanic! I remember seeing this in the theater and later, getting the movie and it had 2 VHS tapes for the full thing. I recently had to explain to my 10 year old son what VHS tapes and cassettes were and that you had to rewind them. Yeah, ever really want to feel old? Talk to a young’un about stuff like that.
Heart of the Ocean is a deep sapphire blue holo with added blue shimmers. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Supernatural Lacquer – We Are The Weirdos, Mister
I was so happy to see The Craft represented in this box! Supernatural Lacquers took on The Craft with the polish We Are the Weirdos, Mister. This is a black crelly base with orange shimmer, silver flakes, rainbow micro flakes and white micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Magic 8 Box November 2016 90’s Movies Overview
As I said at the beginning, this is sadly the final Magic 8 Box. It had a good run as a quartet box originally and then expanded into the Magic 8 Box, but they felt it was time to come to a close. I am thankful for the opportunity I had to work with all the perm makers in the box as well as the wide range of guest makers who joined in.

Was there a 90’s movie you couldn’t get enough of? I’d love to hear it in the comments below, and I bid a fond farewell to The Magic 8 Box! Thank you again for letting me be part of the family.
