I decided to do a quick comparison of MAC Ripe Peach Ombre and Ocean City.
A little background – MAC Ripe Peach Ombre was released as part of MAC’s Spring Color Forecast in 2010 and I remember seeing the frenzy online for it and the high markups once it was no longer available. Ocean City released online yesterday with the MAC Proenza Schouler Collection.
Compact comparison. Ripe Peach has a very subtle shimmer within it that Ocean City does not have. Color wise, they look the same.
This is the best way I could think of to compare. For both compacts (Ocean City on top, Ripe Peach Ombre on bottom) I swatched the darkest shade on the left, middle is a mix of dark and light shades, and right is the lightest shade. Notice they look pretty identical? Exactly identical in fact. The ONLY difference I can see is the VERY subtle shimmer in Ripe Peach. The line in the middle separates which compact was which.
So if you were wanting Ripe Peach and couldn’t find it for a decent price, this is your second chance. Ocean City releases in MAC stores and counters on Thursday, April 24th for $30.00

Soooooo good to know. I was running low on the Ripe Peach ombre and the Grape Alazea Ombre. I keep hoping they will release them, but super good to know that I can grab this limited one and it will suit the need. Great post and comparison.
Azalea Ombre is my #1 most used blush, Ripe Peach is #2. I do love both that they released, but I’m relieved to have a back up of Ripe Peach now so I don’t have to be so stingy with it!
Nice comparisons and review. I sold my Ripe Peach for $50 last year and have been regretting it ever since. To make up for it I ordered 4 Ocean City’s and 2 Sunset Beach. Here’s the funny thing. I ordered the 4 OC’s from Nordie’s and the 2 SB’s from Mac. Well Mac sent me 2 OC’s instead, thanks to the blushes being in the wrong bin, now I have a total of six… yes six Ocean City’s and no Sunset Beach’s.
I heard about all the issues MAC had with shipments! So many upset customers (which I understand… you usually want what you pay for!) But wow, 6 of the same one?!
