The Hocus Pocus Collection

LŪMEN Nails is back with what I think is their best collection yet. Don’t get me wrong – when they launched they hit the ground running, but as a whole – I am loving the colors and finishes within this particular collection more than previous ones (and I enjoyed the previous ones too!) This time around we have The Hocus Pocus collection!

The LŪMEN Nails The Hocus Pocus Collection consists of 8 polishes and and a twisty top container with silver holo moons and gold holo stars within it.

While I have a couple of stand out favorites – I would wear every single color/finish within this collection, but there’s one polish in particular I really hope she expands the color profile on.

This Sanderson Sister inspired set will be available for preorder between September 3rd and September 10th… let’s jump in and check it all out. More details will be at the end of the post.

LŪMEN Nails | Amuck Amuck Amuck

Amuck Amuck Amuck is a shifty one! This is a coppery cool toned brownish jelly base packed with copper to gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

LŪMEN Nails | Another Glorious Morning

Another Glorious Morning is a deep cobalt blue crelly base loaded with red shimmer and silver holo micro flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

In person this polish base is a deeper blue.

LŪMEN Nails | BOOOOK

BOOOOK is the polish I’d love to see in more colors. I want a vampy red jelly base, a purple, blue, hot pink, baby blue.. all of it.

BOOOOOK is a deep chocolate brown jelly base loaded with silver holo flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Dries down with a mild texture, but if you have a thick enough top coat – that should be enough to smooth. If you use a top coat with a thinner consistency you might need 2 coats.

The base in some lighting does look deep charcoal or black, but on it leans more into a deep chocolate brown.

LŪMEN Nails | Bubble Bubble I’m In Trouble

Bubble Bubble I’m In Trouble is a medium blue jelly base loaded with green to teal to blue shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I did find this one to be a touch on the thicker side due to flake amount,. but it wasn’t difficult to apply. I prefer thinner coats for this type of polish for better control over the flakes.

LŪMEN Nails | I Put A Spell On You

I Put A Spell On You is a warm violet jelly base loaded with red to pink to gold to green shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This one was also a touch on the thicker side, but not difficult to apply. I prefer thinner coats for better control of flakes for a polish with this type of finish.

LŪMEN Nails | Just A Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Just A Bunch Of Hocus Pocus is a lemonish gold linear holographic with a slight chartreuse tinge to it. In the bottle I saw the chartreuse a touch more, but against my skin tone more of the lemon gold tones came out. The flame is also in the lime greenish type range – which also gave it the little greenish hue. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The holo effect is much stronger in person.

LŪMEN Nails | Party At Town Hall

Party At Town Hall is a violet jelly base packed with violet to pink to gold to green shifting shimmer, and you can see a touch of blue at extreme angles. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

My eyes might be messing with me, but there also appears to be a subtle sprinkling of holo micro flecks in there.

LŪMEN Nails | Tonight We Fly

Tonight We Fly is a deep ruby red jelly loaded with red to orange to gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

In person this has a slight berry lean to the red tone and it goes into slightly vampy territory.

LŪMEN Nails | The Witching Hour

The Witching Hour is a twist top pot (and by twist top, I mean push down and twist. It’s like a fancier version of rx bottles) with gold holographic stars and silver holographic moons. Perfect for that midnight mani! I used them in 2 different manis for this post.

To use, I basically did a thin layer of top coat, grabbed a dotting tool and dabbed it into my top coat – used it to grab a shape and then dabbed it onto the nail where I wanted to place it. Fairly easy to use.

This set actually made it hard to narrow down a favorite initially – but I have to say in order its: BOOOOOK, Party At Town Hall, Another Glorious Morning, and I Put A Spell On You.
