Press Samples for the Little Shop Of Horrors
September 2021 | All Things Halloween
Sponsored Giveaway
Happy Friday once again – tonight we’ll be looking at the Little Shop Of Horrors September 2021 All Things Halloween samples that I received. Make sure to stop by the bottom and enter the giveaway!
We have a mix of polish, cuticle care, cosmetics and knick knacks to celebrate All Things Halloween!
I have 42 of this month’s offerings ready to go. If you are new to Little Box of Horrors, read on a bit… otherwise you can skip to the swatches.
This will be a bi-monthly collaboration shop that will consist of 25-35 makers. Each bi-monthly shop will have either a horror, sci-fi, thriller, supernatural, paranormal, or mystery like theme – and the products will then be inspired by that theme.
The September theme is All Things Halloween – so it’s horror films that revolve around or include Halloween in some way.
Little Box Of Horrors has set swatchers – however, makers are also able to send to their own swatchers as well. I will link the set swatchers at the end of this post.
Also when I say “set swatchers” makers aren’t forced to send to any of us, they can choose if they want to – so each of us have bits and pieces, but I think we’re all missing an item here and there. We also have a mix of bloggers, swatchers and live video to show.
For a little photo info – I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I work during the day and spend weekend afternoons with my son, so I do my swatching at night and rarely have a chance for natural lighting. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link). I take all of my photos with a Nikon Coolpix L830 camera (affiliate link.)
Lets jump in!
3Cheers4Ears | Glow in the Dark Phone Grip
Inspiration: The one and only Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas.
Description: The Boogyman Inspired Phone Grip is a large 3D printed, glow in the dark, Oogie Boogie shaped phone grip with glow in the dark resin for some added extra glow. Oogie is rather large, like his personality, measuring in at 3.25″ tall x 3″ wide.
It’s on the larger side – but still easy to hold and grip.
Price: $25.00 | Cap: None
All Mixed Up Lacquers | Pumpkin Bits
Inspiration: Colorful Jack-o-lantern Pumpkins
Description: Pumpkin Bits is a shimmery white crelly with orange, red, fuschia, black, and green holographic glitters of all shapes and sizes.I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The glitters create a very mild texture, but it smooths out fine in 1 coat of top coat.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
Apipila | Boo Stamping Plate
Inspiration: All Things Halloween
Description: Stainless Steel stamping plate that measures 15 x 10 cm. The images are all Halloween related – ranging from spiders, pumpkins, ghosts, and graveyard scenes. There’s also a few movie images scattered in.
I randomly selected a few designs to test the etching, and the etching was good and I had no trouble picking anything up on my Clear Jelly Stamper.
Price: $14.99 | Cap:TBA
Baroness X | Acetone Antidote in Cauldron Apple Bake
Inspiration: A witch cauldron filled with a bubbling brew of apple, cinnamon and baked goods.
Description: The September scent is Cauldron Apple Bake – which is a Baroness X house blend of blend of apples, cinnamon, and bakery notes.
The strongest scent to me is the apple. On initial sniff – I get that fresh, crisp apple smell – like when you first bite into an apple and breaking the skin and you get that burst of apple scent… that’s what this is like. Then there is an underlying cinnamon scent that’s noticeable but not overpowering. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not subtle, it’s just not as strong as the apple notes.
Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin! Simply shake up the vial and pour into your polish remover. I generally pour a full vial into a 10 oz pump bottle, but since this is double the usual size – I pour half in. I recommend shaking it and pouring 1/4 in and adding more if you feel you need more. I personally use a lot due to how much acetone I use daily.
This is a larger bottle that allows for 2-4 (maybe 5 or 6) usages. If you have purchased before from the Baroness X shop or other shops – this is double the size.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: None
Baroness X | Cauldron Bubble Fluid Art Polish (Thermal)
Inspiration: A witch cauldron filled with a bubbling brew.
Description: Cauldron Bubble is a dark green fluid art thermal polish that warms to a light celery green with gold/green/blue shimmer. I used 3 thin coats of Cauldron Bubble on it’s own on my index and pinky – so it’s usable as a standalone polish. I also did the fluid art method for middle and index.
First I needed to make a decal. I recommend a silicon mat to do this, I personally use this one (affiliate link) but you can find them cheaper – I just like the size and having 4 to use.
The method that works best for me is to drop the polishes on top of each other a couple drips at a time (similar to water marbling without the water) so I did 3 drops of Fancy Gloss Got Milk?, 3 drops of Psyche Minerals Dimensional Transcendentalism, and 3 drops of Cauldron Bubble, rinse and repeat until I had a nice little blob piled on itself in the center of the mat. Then I picked the mat up and just carefully moved it around to get the blob to warp and stretch and flatten out.
Once I saw the desired cells and spread of the polish, I set it aside for about 3 hours to dry, and then I cut out the desired size, painted my nails with a sticky base and applied the cut out decals. Then I manipulated and sealed them in with a cotton swab dipped in polish remover. I used an orange stick to help cut off any extra I didn’t need.
If you are a more visual learner – check out this video tutorial from Courtney of Polished Lifting
Price: $11.50 | Cap: None
Black Dahlia Lacquer | Bobbing for Apples Cuticle Oil
Inspiration: We were inspired by fall to create this cozy scent.
Description: A cuticle oil that captures the essence of fall with warm scents of apples, cinnamon, and a hint of citrus. Our cuticle oils use only therapeutic grade essential oils and we never include artificially scented oils.
This cuticle oil pairs well with using the Acetone Antidote above. The apple and cinnamon scent is pretty nicely balanced and I barely detected the citrus, but it gives a nice little kick.
Price: $7.00 | Cap: None
Black Dahlia Lacquer | Sally & Jack
Inspiration: Inspired by a scene in the Nightmare Before Christmas
Description: Sally & Jack is a light icy blue jelly with blue to pinkish violet Aurora shimmers. I used 3 coats alone for these photos, but if you layer over a darker shade – the purple and teal shift comes out.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
Bonparsco | Rose Gold Luxury Cream Eyeshadow
Inspiration: Inspired by Halloween make-up.
Description: Rose Gold is a luxury eyeshadow that shimmers with rose gold hues. This is a lightweight, non-greasy formula and glides on with ease. Just one stroke using the soft applicator applies enough product and blends easily. The shadow can be used as an eye color or cheek highlighter but is not lip safe.
This is a beautiful wash of rose gold that leans into a beautiful pink hue with a flash of soft gold. I used it without any primer and quite like the sheerer wash of color look. I do a lot of barely there makeup for work (plus wearing a mask most of the day) and this is a great lid color for my skin type and undertones.
I do have oily eyelids, so after about 3 hours of wear, it did shift a little. I expect it with cream shadows (my lids get REALLY oily) so I did try it the next day with Urban Decay eyeshadow primer and it stayed on all day.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: 15
Color Spectrum Polish | Oogie Boogie
Inspiration: Inspired by The Oogie Boogie Man
Description: Oogie Boogie is a black jelly base with lots of green shimmers and green/blue/yellow shifting UCC flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 50
Colores de Carol | Haunted Cauldron
Inspiration: witch’s cauldron
Description: Haunted Cauldron is a black jelly base with multichrome shimmer, holographic micro flakes and iridescent chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.50 | Cap: None
Dark & Twisted Lacquer | Boo!
Inspiration: Inspired by the movie “Satan’s Little Helper”
Description: Boo! is a sheer charcoal gray jelly base loaded with holo and coppery pumpkin colored hex glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This can be used as a topper – but I really love it on its own. It will dry down with texture, but one coat of top coat is all I needed to smooth.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 30
Fanchromatic Nails | The Dust That Sparkles
Inspiration: What We Do In the Shadows (TV).
Description: The Dust That Sparkles deep blue jelly base with a strong purple shift and can also look teal in some lights. It’s full of multiple sizes of blue/green and blue/purple iridescent glitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 64
Fancy Gloss | Never Sleep Again (Thermal)
Inspiration: Inspired by Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street.
Description: Never Sleep Again is a black (cold) to clear (warm) jelly based thermal with red metallic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
You would also be able to use this as a “topper” if you wanted a color other than clear. I personally like it.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None
Fox Fire Wax & Bath Co | Hydrating Foxy Gloss in Kitsune
Inspiration: Inspired by the mythical kitsune fox. It’s a common subject of Japanese folklore, believed to have shape-shifting power. Kitsune have as many as nine tails, a greater number of tails indicates an older and more powerful Kitsune. Some folktales say that a fox will only grow additional tails after it has lived 100 years.
Description: Hydrating Foxy Gloss is a clear based gloss with silver holo pigment. There is enough pigment to give a beautiful holo sparkle, but not so much that it will have a grey tint to it. Over bare lips it’s there, but not “in your face” and the consistency of the gloss is perfect so the pigment doesn’t settle into lip lines.
This also works over lipsticks and I wore it over Colourpop Songbird and I loved the combo (I didn’t get a photo due to work being insane)
This gloss is non gritty, non sticky and feels so good on the lips.
Price: $9.50 | Cap: None
Galatea Cosmetics | The Fancy Room Cuticle Balm
Inspiration: What We Do In the Shadows (TV)
Description: The Fancy Room is an intensive balm that works well for cuticles, elbows, knees – pretty much anywhere that needs a boost of help. This comes in a large 1 ounce tin, so larger than a typical cuticle balm.
Scent Description: All secret meetings are held in the fancy room, and this is the scent of secret vampire meetings: Leather, dark chocolate, and cherry.
This smells so good. It’s mysterious and I love the combination of leather and cherry. I didn’t think I would but they mingle so well. The scent profile is lighter, so it won’t overpower your senses, but still gives a nice scent.
Price: $8.00 | Cap: None
Healthy Fawns | Basic Butcher Beauty Bag
Inspiration: Michael Myers
Description: This fabric cracks me up. Michael Myers with a Starbucks cup. That’s just… amazing.
The Basic Butcher Beauty Bag measures 8″ x 5.5″ x 0.5″ with an aurora electroplated zipper, and rainbow zipper tape, perfect for holding almost anything you can think of. I put some of the items from this month’s shop in it to carry around.
Price: $16.00 | Cap: 45
Jen & Berries | This Is My Costume
Inspiration: Inspired by those who put minimal effort into their Halloween costumes and inspired by a silver ring with a skeleton holding a coffin-shaped ruby
Description: This IS My Costume is a silver linear holographic base with red metallic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I love this polish and want it in every color micro flakes possible.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 100
Kat Prints | Tombstone Swatch Rings
Inspiration:
Description: Turn your nail polish collection into a graveyard with these swatch rings. They are the perfect way to swatch your polishes and show off your collection! Each pack comes with two hand-assembled white rings of each design.
The designs include a cross tombstone, a skull tombstone, a pentagram tombstone, a tombstone with the alchemy symbol of death, and the classic RIP tombstone every Halloween fan knows and loves.
The rings fit most standard size bottles such as Color Club, Holo Taco, ILNP, LynBDesigns, etc. However, they can be expanded or shrunken to fit bottles such as those of OPI or Enchanted Polish. Just use careful application of heat from a blow dryer or other controllable heat source on the ring prongs and mold it to the shape of the brush cap. PLA can become soft if left under direct sunlight for long periods of time, so you do not need much heat to mold your rings. Please exercise extreme caution while using heat.
These are so cute and so unique. I want them for all of my Halloween themed polishes.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: None
Lacquer Is In The Air | Evil Comes In Every Size
Inspiration: Inspired by the new song and music video Assault & Batteries by Ice Nine Kills. INK is known for writing song based off of classic horror movies
Description: Evil Comes In Every Size is a grungy denim blue jelly base with holo pigment and ultrachrome chameleon flakes in a rainbow assortment flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The bonus? The magnet is Neodymium and WORKS ON POLISH! They will give a perfect circle on the nail and is small enough to fit average nails
Price: $6.00 | Cap: 40
Lemming Lacquer | Jack of the Lantern
Inspiration: Inspired by the Irish legend Jack of the Lantern, a drunkard who bargains with Satan and is doomed to roam the Earth with only an ever burning ember from Hell in a hollowed turnip to light his way
Description: Jack of the Lantern is a burnt orange jelly with holographic flakes and black to burgundy to crimson micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $ | Cap:
Luna Wax | Bubble Bubble Toil and Trouble Scoopable Sand Wax
Inspiration: Witch’s Cauldron
Description: Bubble Bubble Toil and Trouble is a tub of scoopable sand wax (looks like itty bitty beads) with larger shaped wax buried in it. This particular one has a witch’s hat, cauldron and such mixed in. The scent is green apple, red apple and caramel. I smell the red apple and caramel the most and it’s delicious and I really want a caramel apple now!
I’ve been melting this one the most and my tub is almost empty (we have 3 melters going throughout the house) and this one is a house fav. I’ll be grabbing another during the sale.
Price: $10.50 | Cap: 110
Luna Wax | Ghoul’s Night Out
Inspiration: What a ghoul might have in their purse or handbag
Description: Scented in Animal Cookies, cherries, citrus, raspberries and slight musk.
This is an interesting combo and I do like it. This is more bakery and a little sweet. The musk balances out the sweetness. Each shape is the perfect size to set in the melter without having to cut.
I’ve got a few pieces of this one left as well, Jacob prefers to melt this one in his game room.
Price: $8.25 | Cap: 110
LynBDesigns | Practicing Dark Arts and Crafts (Magnetic)
Inspiration: Inspired by The internet’s obsession with cats and Halloween.
Description: Practicing The Dark Arts and Crafts is a deep blue to purple to pink shimmery base with silver pink magnetic pigment and holo shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I only magnetized the middle 2 nails so you can see this polish both ways.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: None
LynBDesigns | Witching Hour Wax Melt
Inspiration: Inspired by the earthy scent fall/Halloween brings to the world.
Description: Witching Hour is described as freshly ground cinnamon bark, and herbal notes of bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, and rose; and an earthy base of sheer musk, black tea, and patchouli.
This has a very unisex type scent. At times I’d get a whiff and think it leaned more masculine, but then some jasmine or rose would pop out and would lean more earthy feminine. This scent is mysterious and complex and I kinda love that it’s so different.
Price: $5.00 | Cap:100
Manmade by J&S | Freddy vs Jason Mystery Mask
Inspiration: Freddy vs Jason
Description: Coming to Little Box of Horrors for September’s shop – ManMade By J&S has a mystery mask listing where you can get one of 2 horror masks!
The 2 styles are either Jason or Freddy … and I know what masks I’m wearing to work from now until Halloween (or later!)
These are comfortable to wear, and I own a lot of their masks. Jacob wants one and I said he could have ONE. Not both.
Price: $12.00 Each | Cap: 50
My Indie Polish | The Leaves Are Not Dying

Night Owl Lacquer | Eerie Lights

Paradox Polish | Not Your Basic Witch
Inspiration: Inspired by witches and their black cats.

Peachtree Polish | Midnight Madness
Inspiration: Inspired by a dark Halloween night full of eerie creatures
Description: Midnight Madness is a deep teal jelly base loaded with micro holographic and iridescent flakes that shift gold to pink to blue to green, as well as ultrachrome chameleon multicolored flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: 50
Red Panda Lacquer | WITCH Way
Inspiration: Inspired by by a photo of Will from WITCH, an Italian comic. The first issue is about a Halloween party and the picture was of WIll in her Halloween party dress, only in purple, riding a broom
Description: WITCH Way is a medium orchid purple linear holographic with red shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $ | Cap:
Ribbits Stickits | Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive
Inspiration: Inspired by Bonfires and Ghost Stories.
Description: Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive is a mixture of glycerine and oil and fragrance that you add to your acetone to help prevent drying and that white ashen skin look. Most do add these to pure acetone, but i personally like using it in Zoya Remove +. Remove+ does already have it’s own built in additive in a sense, but I like the additional boost.
This is a 30ml bottle, so you could shake this bad boy up and potentially get up to 4 uses out of it, depending on how much you pour per bottle. Just make sure you shake it first to mix the oils and glycerine up.
Scent described as Ribbits Stickits “House Blend” which is a creamy butterscotch, aged bourbon whiskey, sweet vanilla and marshmallows, and smoldering fire.
I can smell the bourbon and sweet vanilla the most in this and it’s interesting and … just different. If you aren’t into the more fruity/floral/bakery type scents – then this is for you.
Price: $8.50 | Cap: 50
Ribbits Stickits | Un-frog-gettable Cuticle Cover (Liquid Latex)
Inspiration: Inspired by Bonfires and Ghost Stories.
Description: Brush Un-frog-gettable Cuticle Cover around your nail on the cuticle area, sides and under your finger depending on what nail technique you are doing. Makes clean up much easier when sponging, stamping, marbling, using powders, etc. Dries quickly, peels off easily, the scent will be most apparent after the latex is dry, and will linger once the latex has been removed
I use this mostly for stamping since I do stamp a few times a month and I go through this stuff at a steady rate. The scent is the same as the Acetone Additive but it’s lighter in the latex. Just enough to cover the latex scent.
Scent described as the Ribbits Stickits “House Blend” which is a creamy butterscotch, aged bourbon whiskey, sweet vanilla and marshmallows, and smoldering fire.
If you are allergic to latex, do not buy this
Price: $9.00 | Cap: 50
Ribbits Stickits | All Things Horrorween Waterslide Decals
Inspiration: Horror Films
Description: One and a half sheets of waterslide decals to help you create horror movie inspires decals all spooky season long! Printed on clear backing. Tips and Tricks and Instructions included.
These are easy to use, and are similar to temporary tattoos we had as kids – these are just for your nails.
This might be one of my favorite sets Ribbits Stickits has done. Especially the half sheet.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: 50
Sassy Pants Polish | Cuticle Balm
Inspiration: Sweet Pumpkin Spice
Description: This is a good cuticle balm that melts on contact with body heat, so it’s easy to apply and massage in. A thin layer makes it easy to soak in, or do a thicker barrier layer if you want it to sit and soak in a bit more.
This month’s scent is sweet pumpkin spice, and as soon as you lift the tin lid – there will be no doubt in your mind what scent it should be. It’s pumpkin spice all the way.
Price: $7.00 | Cap: 100
Sassy Pants Polish | Witches Kitchen
Inspiration: Inspired by a picture of Witches Kitchen
Description: Witches Kitchen is a neon green jelly base with gold holographic micro shreds and red/orange/gold UCC flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $12.99 | Cap: None
Sweet Heart Polish | PumpkinHead
Inspiration: Inspired by the 1988 classic horror movie, Pumpkinhead
Description: Pumpkinhead is a pale peachy orange linear holo with both gold shimmer and gold sparks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Price: $10.00 | Cap: 100
The Nail Stuff | I Like Your Eye Patch (Thermal)
Inspiration: Inspired by Rhonda and her jack o’lanterns from The movie Trick ‘r Treat
Description: I LIke Your Eye Patch is medium navy when warm to deep blackened navy with cold, plus there is blue shimmer, green to gold flakes and pink to red to orange flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a g lossy top coat for these photos.
It was warm and humid while taking these photos and had to take them quick since they kept going full on warm state after a couple snaps of the camera. The final picture isn’t transition because the ice pack I use was melting and it would transition too quick. It’s a beautifully reactive thermal.
Price: $12.00 | Cap:50
The Soapy Chef | Trick or Treat Cuticle Scrub
Inspiration: The scents of the beginning of fall
Description: This cuticle scrub is a gentle scrub that is a hybrid balm/scrub – which seems crazy but it’s actually really nice with my obsessiveness with my nails. It buffs away dead skin while also leaving a protective balm layer over it.
Scent notes: Sicilian Lemon, Ruby grapefruit, sage & Basil leaves
It’s a nice, clean and refreshing scent.
Price: $9.00 | Cap: 80
The Soapy Chef | Beetlejuice Resin Trinket Dish
Inspiration: Beetlejuice – Lydia’s Iconic Quote
Description: The Soapy Chef did it again with her resin trinket dishes! This one has a neon green to purple to white-ish gradient with lots of shimmer and sparkle that looks both holo and iridescent. Then there is a decal on the middle that is flush with the base – you can’t feel any edges or anything to the new dish.
Really cute dish and I’m using it as a cupholder.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: 80
Wildflower Lacquer | Tonight … We Fly!
Inspiration: Inspired by Hocus Pocus.
Description: Tonight… We Fly! is a yellowy olive green base with teal/red/orange/green shifting multichrome shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Wildflower Lacquer said to be sure to wear a base coat – as some noticed staining with this polish. I had zero issues personally , but I still appreciate the heads up on things like these.
Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

I’m very interested in The Fancy Room but my #1 is EDK’s I Would Die For Her!
Hi. My name is Danielle “Yelly” Ferraiola Shin. I live in long Beach, long Island in N.Y. I am 46 years old, and have been doing my own nails my whole life, and have collected over 2000 polishes… some ACTUALLY from the 90s that have stood the test of time. Lol JUST this year I have finally caved into trying indie polishes and participating in these amazing, FUN, monthly events, and other then occasional MUST HAVES and stocking stuffers etc from hubby… I probably won’t be buying much mainstreams anymore, cause they can’t come close to comparison in quality, and I’d rather give my money to the lovely people making these handmades, and they DESERVE every penny for quality alone!
My Furbaby Samantha and I LOVEEEE all the colors the world brings together ! She’s a beautiful beagle puppy, and although won’t let me put polish on her just YET lol, she loves watching me do my nails so much! I LOVE YOUR BLOG AND YOUTUBE SWATCH VIDEOS, and appreciate the time and effort you put into advertising for these wonderful independent polish companies. You always show great lighting and angles to show all the depth, and you def help me make my final picks. Even though I’m gonna go broke from this collecting indie polish hobby lol… I’m glad I’m supporting all these people that continue to bring beautiful color to a sometimes sad world.
Blessings to you all. Thank you so much Yelly
The dark arts inspired polish is beautiful. The stickers and thought that went into all this is amazing.
