I think I have 3 more posts and I’m all caught up with this weeks releases! Busy busy! Next up I have the KBShimmer The Lounge Set Collection!
KBShimmer came in hot and heavy with even more reflects polishes and I am here for it. I know it’s not for everyone, but I love the polishes packed with reflects because for me… they sparkle in light sources even without a flash. All 9 of these are packed and the color selection is perfection.
All of these do dry with a very mild texture. I apply in thin coats and I find the texture is so mild that I can do 1 coat of top coat and be just fine. If you do thicker coats though, KBShimmer does have Smooth Moves Smoothing Top Coat (this will need a glossy top coat over it though… it’s not meant to be the final layer) to help fill in the little nooks and crannies for a smooth, plump mani. As always, you can also top that smoothing layer with KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a nice, glassy finish. Smooth moves will work with the top coat of your choice though if you don’t have Clearly On Top.
For all of these photos I only used Clearly On Top. As I said, I do thin coats of polish and I didn’t find it necessary to use the smoothing top coat. Thicker coats may need it though.
For all of the “reflect” photos I used my camera flash and not the cell phone flash. This gives it a more sparkling effect vs the whitish silver reflect look.
Let’s jump right in. These are already available in the KBShimmer shop, including Smooth Moves Smoothing Top Coat.
KBShimmer | Self-Reflection
Self-Reflection is a pale almond base loaded with red to copper to gold to lime green shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a very… elegant neutral shade. That’s the best way for me to describe it. I feel like I could wear this to any event and it can be that jeans and tshirt shade or on the opposite end – the shade to compliment a ballgown and diamond tiara.
KBShimmer | Mask Me Again
Mask Me Again is an avocado green base with pink to gold to lime green shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
KBShimmer | I Knead You Now
I Knead You Now is a teal leaning mint base with green to violet to fuchsia to blue shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
KBShimmer | Lounging Around
Lounging Around is a bright, medium blue base with turquoise to blue to indigo to purple shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
KBShimmer | Drawn To You
Drawn To You is a dusty, muted periwinkle base with copper to gold to green shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
KBShimmer | Novel Idea
Novel Idea is a dark, cool toned purple almost blurple base with rose pink to gold to green to aqua shifting shimmer and silver reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
