After a couple days of intense swatches I finally have all 28 polishes from the KBShimmer Summer 2015 collection to share with you! I went back and forth with how to assemble this collection and wasn’t sure if I wanted to split it up or keep them all together, and in the end I decided to make one giant post for the full collection.
Because there are 28 polishes, this will be an incredibly photo heavy post.
I’ll quit chatting now and get onto the photos!
Lei It Again
Lei It Again is a slightly faded electric pink creme. While this shade is bright and on the neon side, it does have a pastel like formula. I used 3 thin coats for these photos and had slight self leveling issues (common with pastel like formulas)
Bahama Drama
Bahama Drama is a faded deep neon peach shade. I loved this color! Formula wise, it was similar to the pink. Applied like a pastel would with some self leveling issues and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage.
Leggo My Mango
Leggo My Mango is a neon orange creamsicle shade. I used 3 thin coats for these photos and experienced some slight self leveling issues.
Rum Me The Right Way
Rum Me The Right Way is a neon lemon yellow. It’s actually a smidge more “faded” in person than in my photo. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
For Sail By Owner
For Sail By Owner is a bright neon lime green. While it has the “faded” quality, I actually had no issues with this shade application wise. I used 3 thin coats and there were no self leveling issues.
In Yacht Water
In Yacht Water is a bright Caribbean blue with aqua tones. I used 2 coats for these photos and had no application issues.
Sarong Place, Sarong Time
Sarong Place, Sarong Time is a vibrant violet creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
You can see in the bottle that there are small purple “specks” which has since been corrected by KBShimmer. I didn’t have any of the “specks” transfer onto the nail itself for my mani, but she shipped out a new batch of Sarong Place, Sarong Time to bloggers and I will update this post with the newest batch once it arrives. The new batch will be what is available to the public.
Alloy Matey!
Alloy Matey! is a super sparkly holographic silver micro and fine glitter shade. I used 2 coats for these photos and it’s amazing. I used 1 coat of top coat to even it out. Because such fine glitters were used it isn’t as textured as one would think.
Sun & Games
Sun & Games is the gold version of Alloy Matey! This is a gold holographic mixture with micro and fine glitters in a clear base. I used 2 coats for these photos and 1 coat over top coat.
We Be Jammin
We Be Jamming is a bright magenta polish with blue shimmer and micro holographic sparkle. The shimmer overtakes the magenta a bit in my photos. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Precious Petals
Precious Petals is a glitter top coat with neon pink, purple, white, and aqua glitters in a clear base. I used 1 coat over Sarong Place, Sarong Time for these photos.
Wave The Flag
Wave The Flag is a patriotic glitter topper with red, white and blue matte glitters and tiny white stars in a clear base. I used 1 coat over In Yacht Water for these photos.
What Are You Wading For?
What Are You Wading For? is the lone linear holo in the collection. I love KBShimmer’s linear holos, so I was a little sad that in 28 pieces, only 1 was a linear holo (she did make it up though with Alloy Matey! and Sun & Games so I’ll let the lack of linear holo slide.)
What Are You Wading For? is a deeper toned periwinkle linear holo polish with indigo blue shimmer. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Vitamin Sea
Vitamin Sea is a blue leaning teal jelly polish with pink, silver, and micro holographic glitters. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Home Surf
Home Surf is a dusty teal crelly with silver holographic glitters in several sizes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Shell Shock
Shell Shock is a peach leaning tan polish with holographic gold glitter, magenta glitter and copper glitters. This is the sheerest KBShimmer crelly I’ve worn, but it built up fairly easily. I used 3 coats for these photos, but you can also layer it over a nude or peachy shade if you don’t want to do 3 coats.
Pink-a Colada
Pink-a Colada is a violet leaning pink crelly polish with holographic glitters in lime green, light blue and pink. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Dust In The Bottle
Dust In The Bottle is a holographic glitter top coat with micro fine glitter in a clear base. I used 1 coat over Lei It Again.
Take The Punny and Run
I want to start by saying that chrome color shifting flakies and I don’t always get along. They also reflect more or less color shifting depending on your lighting, angle, and things of that nature, so for each ultra chrome flake polish I have 3 different photos.
Take The Punny And Run travels from fuchsia to lime green with shades of gold and copper between. I used 3 coats for full coverage.
Pros and Bronze
Pros And Bronze is our gold toned flake polish with subtle shifts to warm bronze and orange with hints of green at extreme angle. I used 3 coats for these photos.
Green Weaver
Green Weaver shifts from a rosy pink, to an apple green, this shifting shade also shows hints of purple at extreme angles. i used 3 coats for these photos.
She’s Beyond Kelp!
She’s Beyond Kelp! goes from lime green to blue, She’s Beyond Kelp! picks up shades of grass green and aqua at different angles. I used 3 coats for these photos.
Moody Hues
Moody Hues has rich jewels tones in purple and blue showing off hints of copper at extreme angles. I used 3 coats for these photos.
Look On The Nightside
Look At The Nightside is my favorite of the ultra chromes! This shifting shade goes from a rich green, to a violet purple, and offers hints of royal blue. I used 3 coats for these photos.
Whew… almost done.. you all still with me?
Foiled
Foiled is the first of 4 silver flake shades, and the smallest. Foiled is a micro silver flake shade and I only needed 2 coats for these photos.
R-E-F-L-E-C-T
R-E-F-L-E-C-T is the next size up in silver flakies. I needed 2 coats for almost full coverage. I kind of liked the patched together look it gave though.
That’s Ore Like It!
That’s Ore Like It! is the next sized up silver flake polish and my favorite of the 4. I used 3 coats for these photos and used the dabbing method on the 3rd coat to “fill in the blank space” as much as possible.
Sterling Example
Sterling Example is the largest of the silver metallic flake polishes. I actually prefer this as 1 coat layered over a color, but showed it as 3 coats on it’s own.
KBShimmer Nail Art
Whats a few more photos anyway?
I did 2 looks with some of the shades in the Summer Collection!
Swirl Design
For this look I used 2 coats of Alloy Matey! and top coated. Then I applied Swirl Vinyl Nail Decals from the KBShimmer Shop and added 1 coat of In Yacht Water over it. Pulled the decals off and top coated to seal it in.
Gradient
I also did a Summer gradient using Rum Me The Right Way and Bahama Drama with a topping of Dust In The Bottle!
Overview
Whew! That’s a LONG post and all 28 shades in the new KBShimmer Summer 2015 collection. Since there are so many – I’m going to bunch them up in my overview:
The Cremes – overall, great colors but some minor self leveling issues and most needed 3 coats to avoid patchy areas. These are described as “faded” neons which also reminds me of pastel like neons. They do apply like pastels and take some care, but the color outcome is vibrant and beautiful.
Ultra Chrome Flakies & Silver Flakes – Loved these. Application was easy and they can be used over existing base colors or 3 times on their own for full coverage. I prefer these as 1 coat over a base color, but did full coverage in my post to get more of a color shift range to show in the photos.
Glitter Toppers & Glitter Crellies – I found all of these to be of typical KBShimmer fashion. Easy to apply, good glitter distribution and nice pigmentation. The only one to watch out a bit for is Shell Shock since it is sheerer than others and if you are a 2 coat and done girl, this one may not be for you.
The Holos – Last but not least, the 2 holo micro glitters and lone linear holo. Fabulous as always and all 3 had great coverage. As with most micro glitters, Alloy Matey! and Sun & Games may require the foil method for removal.
Price: $7.50 – $10.75 each

Great swatches and a wonderful overview. I can’t even imagine how long this too you to swatch, photograph, edit and post! Those chrome flakies are really calling to me! And I may need one of those silver flakies – I have something similar in both categories from Mystic Muse already. Again – fantastic post!
Thank you so much! It was definitely a fun, but time consuming collection!
You are the swatch queen Lisa!! I’ll definitely be picking up the cremes.
Thanks Manna!
How lucky to have all 28! There are at least 15 that I would love to have. So many pretties, but then kbShimmer!
KBShimmer puts out some gorgeous colors and while some think 28 is too many at once… I’m thinking “Bring it on..”
