It’s that time again for another giant Polish Pickup blog post!  This month the June 2018 Polish Pickup has the theme… VIDEO GAMES!

Initially I had 42 items to share this month, but unfortunately Illyrian had to pull out of the June shop (major sad face) so I have 41 items to share tonight!

There aren’t as many bath and body this month as with previous months, which I’m not sure how I feel about that. I generally buy a lot when the shop opens (weird I know.. I have almost half the shop already) but I do like to support Polish Pickup and as many makers involved as I can. I spent over 200 last month in the shop.

Yeah I know.

This month has so many incredible items… I’ll most likely be spending another $200 this month as well.

Okay, let’s get into what you came here for. You know the drill…

Before I get into this, we’re going to talk about this new Facebook group and I’m going to describe it’s concept. The group is Polish Pickup. Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. It’s NOT a box though. I think when it formed that was the major misconception of it.

Now, I love polish boxes, however, some purchasers shared their frustration in only wanting 1 or 2 polishes from a box and needing to unload the polishes in the box they didn’t want. So essentially they were paying $40 and up for 1 or 2 polishes and hoping they could sell the polishes they weren’t interested in.

Polish Pickup is different. While the concept of picking themes and voting isn’t new, instead of buying the whole box, you can shop online for JUST the single polishes you want. There can be many indie makers involved with the theme, but you only have to pay for the exact polishes you wanted rather than 4-8 polishes you may not have been interested in.

Then every month the theme and makers change and you get a whole new set of polishes to pick and choose from. So while it has a box like feel (with the voting and themes) it doesn’t carry the box commitment.

This set of polishes will be available from June 1st at 11am EST through June 4th at 11:59pm EST.

Description: Color Pulse is a black jelly base loaded with scattered holo, green aurora pigment, pink shift, iridescent rainbow shimmer, green to blue to purple chameleon micro glitter, neon pink micro flakes, pink to green to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes AND… it also glows bright green in the dark. I failed to take a photo of the glow, so I’ll try to do it tonight and update the photos. Sorry!

PLEASE NOTE: I used an arc magnet that I purchased for these photos. The magnet available with this polish will create a line effect. The arc magnet “repels” the magnetic effect (pushing it out) while the bar magnet draws it in.

Inspiration: Final Fantasy X

Description: The Sending is a magnetic rose-gold/pink/gold/green multichrome with silver holo flakes, green/blue/purple UCC flakes, and purple/red/pink UCC mega flakes. The magnetic shift is subtle, but gorgeous. When applied, the magnet brings up the rose-gold shimmer and adds a dimensional shift to the color.

A bar shaped neodymium magnet will be included with every order.

The magnetic line is hard to see in photos, but in person it’s more apparent. In general, it is a slightly more subtle magnetic effect – but it’s visible.

This polish has a very slight smell to it from the pigment most likely. It’s not overpowering, but I did notice it.
